Hi All,
after research and much appreciated advice from some forum members, I’m finally heading out today to JFK for a same day turnaround on AY 15 & 16.
having a bit of cold sweat though as yesterday’s AY 15 was almost 1 hour late :”( cutting the turnaround time to just 3 hours
wondering if any members here have done a some day turnaround recently in JFK and have any advice to share ? Thanks in advance

Thank you and some feedback
I would say two hours is the absolute maximum time spent in the immigration queue at JFK. That would still give you two hours to check in and clear security, which is more than enough.
My take: On a bad day, yes, perfectly doable and you will have time to visit the Flagship lounge. On a good day, you will be out of immigration within minutes and will have time to take the Airtrain to Jamaica if you want to see a rougher side of NYC (walk to Jamaica Avenue and towards 165th Street; however, I would not necessarily recommend this at night; the flight comes in a bit too late for this).

I have no experience of same plane turnaround at JFK but have flown either AY5 or AY15 4-5 times this year followed by AA domestic connection. Every time from AY door to AA lounge <1h. I know I have been lucky with no real lines in immigration. Try to get orange express connection tag from ground staff when you exit AY plane - that may be helpful in case of long lines at immigration.
I just did the turnaround at JFK, it was quite smooth and am now flying back on AY 16, couldn’t have done it without the help here.
Am sharing the timing of certain milestones of my experience here as a data point for anyone else contemplating an immediate turnaround at JFK.
7.25pm AY 15 touch down 7.45pm Doors open
7.55pm Reached CBP queue
8.02pm Reached landside
8.05pm Queueing at AY check in (AY check in counter was visible from the escalator)
8.10pm Started queueing at the “priority lane” - this was the first and only hiccup of the evening , general lane actually moved faster then the priority lane I was put into. Took note of a another passenger in the general lane who was actually behind me at check in, and noted the passenger had their passport scanned at 8.47pm, couldn’t really see when they cleared the scanners though.
9.05pm I was airside and happy !
again, really appreciate the help!

Maybe no eyebrows coming from Helsinki to JFK and back, but if coming from GYE to MIA and back, perhaps then…
Did once gye-bog-lhr-arn-tku and all dogs of turku staff were waiting me to sniff my pants 😃 I told officers to give them some good meat instead of my old fat😂

I only got sniffed at by dogs once, when doing a direct turnaround in Kärdla coming from Tallinn.

Hi all, any advice: friend of mine reached for lumo and made 450 tier points but didn't realise there's the 350k/450k requirement for finnar flights. He's 41850 points short of lumo. The period ends 31.12.2022. any advice how to do this this the best way without wasting too much money/time? Hel-based.
I'm trying to help him out here since I sold him this idea. I just didn't realise he had bought points twice and thus kinda wasted 50k tier points.

He is Plat now, so probably J Classic longhaul return to the US (or DXB/DOH??). That would be 40k. I would check prices from the Baltics, Nordics, Polan and Germany, too. That would give extra points, which is needed, too.

PE Flex is likely cheaper than J Classic but gives same amount of points.
Likely even mixing PE Flex and Y Flex is enough when starting LH e.g. from Germany.
Actually Y Flex can be enough if positioning flights are with AY.
