Safe - Immediate turnaround is easy, i.e. according to experience it is possible to reach departure gate quickly and without extra security check when doing same plane turnaround.
Intermediate - Immediate turnaround is doable, but requires e.g. extra security check.
Risky - Immediate turnaround not recommended. (See notes.)

TO KEEP THE WIKI AS COHERENT AS POSSIBLE, PLEASE USE "SAFE", "INTERMEDIATE" OR "RISKY" APPROPRIATELY! (I.e. no "Safe" for stations that require any kind of security or transfer check, not to mention going landside, etc.)

Immediate turnaround information for European AY destinations:

ACE: ?
AGP: Safe (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate.) Details here from August 2022

AMS: Safe (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate.)
ARN: Safe / Intermediate (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate, except gate 62 arrival pours to baggage claim. ATR flights may be riskier if one ends up with a bus gate.)

GDN: Risky (Providing it is ATR by Norra, apron position, walking / bussing to the arrivals, queue security (can be very long), sprint upstairs to the gate.)

KTT: ?
KUO: Intermediate (Exit via baggage claim and reclear security, but should be doable if you exit among the first from the inbound flight.)
LHR: Intermediate (Need to go via Flight Connections to reclear security, which may take time depending on the time of the day.)

NAP: ?
NCE: ?
OSL: Safe / Intermediate (D gates pours directly to departures. E gates also pours to departure gate, follow transit arrow, automatic gate door will open during "normal" hours. IF door doesn't open go upstairs try the transfer security. Very rare reports of stand arrival with bus to exit, but should still be doable, security is usually fast and short distances.)

VAA: Intermediate (Exit via baggage claim and reclear security, but should be doable if you exit among the first from the inbound flight.)
VBY: ?
VCE: ?
VIE: Safe (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate.)
VNO: Risky. (Departing pax board bus when arriving pax still deplaning. Connection corridor available but not sure how straightforward it is).
VRN: ?
WAW: Safe (Arrivals pour to departure gate.)
ZRH: Safe (When exiting the bridge, you are under the gates and there are inclined speedwalks that bring back to the gates upstairs.)

Immediate turnaround information for selected longhaul AY destinations:

DEL: Intermediate (There's plenty of time for the obligatory visit to the transit desk and security. However, you'll need a self-printed visa confirmation to show the gate agent at HEL.)
DOH: ?
DXB: Intermediate (Follow "connections" to security downstairs and after that go to transfer desk if needed.)
JFK: Intermediate (Generous time with the new schedule, but you'll need to clear US immigration so ESTA or visa is needed.)
NRT: Intermediate (OLCI and mobile BP works, no need to go landside. There's transfer security, though.)

Moreover, is it official sign in finnish and swedish? Otherwise it might be one of those "fake" signs that are not legit.

That is good but AY's CDG-JFK-CDG Classic is 372€. That gives better value.

Depends on how one calculates value too time is also valuable these days 😀

Now a days I tend to go for J tickets over value due to time issues, then again with how often AY has cancelled my tickets I suppose I should just go with X tickets now and I 😀😀😀

Bang for point, sure. But there are other factors as well..
The downside is that both the eco classic and biz classic fares are not refundable for a fee. A little while ago booked a refundable JFK trip ex-LED for around 250,- in eco classic.
There's still a myriad of uncertainty and that's the reason I'm trying to refrain from booking. Otherwise would book CDG-SFO-LAX-HEL-CDG. Sad times.

An update on the cheap J zombie fares to Asia (Germany/Italy to Hong Kong/China) from last year: when my flights were canceled, the agent revalidated instead of reissue the ticket. With revalidations, the date of issue doesn't change. So despite being booked for the future, the ticket expired past its 12 month validity. Without me knowing, because I assumed the ticket validity had been refreshed. And then when the flights eventually got cancelled, Finnair could not reissue it for new flights and insisted only on refunding. That was.. frustrating.

I am having a similar issue though not expired yet, they refuse to move it forward, nor will they change the destination to one that allows travel now... Nor will they reroute on a partner as EU261 dictates(not suprised) nor will they just give Original Routing Credit so I decided if they infact refuse to do ANYTHING with this then I will take a one yet hiatus on buying PAID tickets with AY 😂😂

With for instance ORD flights going out near empty I find it rather odd that they cannot make any sort of compromise, not even to keep a customer buying tickets and aiming for LUMO which right now is a futile status anyways 😂😂

Very little flexibility when THEY are the ones cancelling the flights (16th time so far)

But these are not life altering issues, I can certainly fly with ba, was, or even JL or CX no problem 😂

B2B possibility? I could consider this, when AY lounge is opened.

Turnaround at IVL - Possible during Covid era?

I am planning a trip to Europe and want to fly a few same-day turnaround flights on these domestic Finnair flights.
I wonder if Covid-19 has changed the departure and arrival experiences on these domestic Finland flights especially into Lapland, like RVN or IVO.
Will there be another Covid vaccination check on arrival in IVL or RVN or even Oulu?

I am tempted to do an A321 turnaround flight from HEL to Ivalo to Kittila to HEL flight! I looked at youtube video and Ivala airport looks pretty compact.

If I complete online check-in, will I be able to make the return flight with the short 35 minutes ground time at Ivalo?

Any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Carfield

No COVID document checks on domestic flights (at least last month). Only in HEL when transferring from risk country -> domestic. Never personally saw the point of these domestic point runs (given how few points you get vs. Europe) but I don't see any reason why you couldn't make it back on the same plane, you disembark straight to the gate area.

Maybe if the government introduces a vaccination passport (earliest October) you may have to prove vaccination status somewhere, but right now that is all speculation.

Well I just need that cushion to maintain my OW Emerald status. Plus that flight is super interesting for an AvGeek. I have been locked down here in HK for the past year, with a 14 days quarantine on my way back to HK. I mind as well fly some interesting flights during this late September/early October trip.

Thanks for your advice!
