Safe - Immediate turnaround is easy, i.e. according to experience it is possible to reach departure gate quickly and without extra security check when doing same plane turnaround.
Intermediate - Immediate turnaround is doable, but requires e.g. extra security check.
Risky - Immediate turnaround not recommended. (See notes.)

TO KEEP THE WIKI AS COHERENT AS POSSIBLE, PLEASE USE "SAFE", "INTERMEDIATE" OR "RISKY" APPROPRIATELY! (I.e. no "Safe" for stations that require any kind of security or transfer check, not to mention going landside, etc.)

Immediate turnaround information for European AY destinations:

ACE: ?
AGP: Safe (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate.) Details here from August 2022

AMS: Safe (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate.)
ARN: Safe / Intermediate (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate, except gate 62 arrival pours to baggage claim. ATR flights may be riskier if one ends up with a bus gate.)

GDN: Risky (Providing it is ATR by Norra, apron position, walking / bussing to the arrivals, queue security (can be very long), sprint upstairs to the gate.)

KTT: ?
KUO: Intermediate (Exit via baggage claim and reclear security, but should be doable if you exit among the first from the inbound flight.)
LHR: Intermediate (Need to go via Flight Connections to reclear security, which may take time depending on the time of the day.)

NAP: ?
NCE: ?
OSL: Safe / Intermediate (D gates pours directly to departures. E gates also pours to departure gate, follow transit arrow, automatic gate door will open during "normal" hours. IF door doesn't open go upstairs try the transfer security. Very rare reports of stand arrival with bus to exit, but should still be doable, security is usually fast and short distances.)

VAA: Intermediate (Exit via baggage claim and reclear security, but should be doable if you exit among the first from the inbound flight.)
VBY: ?
VCE: ?
VIE: Safe (Arrivals pour directly to departure gate.)
VNO: Risky. (Departing pax board bus when arriving pax still deplaning. Connection corridor available but not sure how straightforward it is).
VRN: ?
WAW: Safe (Arrivals pour to departure gate.)
ZRH: Safe (When exiting the bridge, you are under the gates and there are inclined speedwalks that bring back to the gates upstairs.)

Immediate turnaround information for selected longhaul AY destinations:

DEL: Intermediate (There's plenty of time for the obligatory visit to the transit desk and security. However, you'll need a self-printed visa confirmation to show the gate agent at HEL.)
DOH: ?
DXB: Intermediate (Follow "connections" to security downstairs and after that go to transfer desk if needed.)
JFK: Intermediate (Generous time with the new schedule, but you'll need to clear US immigration so ESTA or visa is needed.)
NRT: Intermediate (OLCI and mobile BP works, no need to go landside. There's transfer security, though.)

I've once missed my connection because of that, after (at that time) very slow security check on the upper floor I arrived to the gate of my connecting flight a couple of minutes too late. Another time the transfer security was unexpectedly closed and I had to go landside and be screened there to get back to the airside, that time I just made my connection even though I should have had plenty of time. After those experiences, I've been avoiding OSL for transfers if there is any other alternative.

I quite like the Cathay lounge at CDG T2A. They don't have separate F/J lounges, but rather a hybrid which has all the usual features including the noodle bar and champagne (it's France after all!) and has terrific apron views from the comfortable window seats - and CDG has some pretty interesting traffic you don't much see anywhere else (Air Tahiti Nui anyone?). I'm sure they have showers as well.

Just be vary of your connection time, I've often been suggested the 0925 CX codeshare ex-HEL by various booking engines which only leaves one with 1h40min connection time at CDG and for CDG that's cutting it tight - remember that you'll need to make a landside transfer between 2D and A, and at least last summer the straight tunnel was under renovation so the route took one thru the car parks and some other nasty areas, adding to the confusion factor.

I have been following these CX fare talks to HKG/Asia for quite some time and now I have tipped over the edge to try their cheapo once. Anyone in MR mode and would like to have a companion for flights, here is an easy soul to join. PM me in case.

Just an example, but I'm flying with CX CPH-NRT-CPH later this year, I paid 640 EUR for the ticket and should give 27000 points in total (booking class V).

The total travel time is several hours longer in both directions compared to using AY, and the dates you can get this good price is a bit limited, so I'm certainly not going to replace all my flights to NRT with CX but since you get so much better earnings I thought I would give it a try at least.

If You need to go Japan then CX 100% is nice vs AY-Siberian cartell 50% but I cant call it cheap MR.

In my case indeed it's not really a MR (apart from the fact that I am deliberately choosing a slower route to get more points), but I still think the earnings are quite good? How much better than 42 points per euro can you generally expect when looking for good MRs?

Well, compared to the 1,5k€ I had to shell out for a HEL-NRT-HEL in booking class K (eco, 100% earning), 640€ definitely looks like a MR. (obviously the upgrade vouchers were put to good use on these flights)

For me, looking something like this below. And as I am interested in segments (V class will give some compensation for the pain), Y is fine and secondly, I am looking to test their Y (masochist I am!) as many have praised it. I must have gone mad.

CX Y runs are quite enjoyable indeed. I’m feeling a bit worried about their new 777 10-abreast config though. Which destination are you looking into?
