What is fare class/code F on AY?
 
Before anyone asks, I did search FT and the internet at large and couldn't find an answer. :)

Does "F" on AY mean a business class seat (via upgrade) by any chance?

Yes, it means just that. :)

Yep, have never seen AY F bucket to show up anywhere (i.e. EF) but that's what the upgraded tickets show.

Maybe it is not available in Amadeus at all...it would actually make sense to use it only for internal purposes as it often refers to full price first ticket which AY obviously do not sell..

I am flying ORD > JFK > HEL > VNO in Sept 14.
I am a Finnair Plus member with no status.
As a OW sapphire, AA Plat, will I be able to select seating EExit without
Charge ?

Yes, but it might not work for you online (YMMV - depends in which kind of a mood the website is said day). If that's the case, call.

For me the "mood" has been quite bad lately..any booking with my BA Emerald number hasn't been working..always asking money for seat assingments in whY...calling/emailing works..I'd imagine it would be in AY's best interest to (finally!!) get their IT system to work properly..this has been going on for years..

kauppias has never been able to reserve seats online with his OWS status. I'll report back on my next flight in a few weeks in the relevant thread.

And yes, fully agree this should be fixed - it's in everyone's interest!
