Short Check Bag From HEL?

Hi all,

Next week, I'll be flying HEL-CDG-US. HEL-CDG is AF-marketed, AY-operated while CDG-US is AF marketed and operated. The US segment is in W. I am SkyTeam Elite Plus, but have no OW status.

I'd like to avoid a long wait for my bag upon arrival in the US (with Global Entry and carry on only I can be landside a few minutes after stepping off the plane), but will have to check one bag from HEL. (AF W allows me 2 carry on on the US segment.) What I'd like to do is check the bag from HEL to CDG, claim it, and then carry it on the AF flight. (Or at least recheck it with AF at CDG to get priority tags.) Is this possible?

I realize there's a risk of misconnect if the AY flight to CDG is delayed and I have to wait for the bag, but I'm familiar with CDG, and if the AY flight is that late I probably wouldn't make the connection anyway.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, it worked as expected. I was more determined to try after my bag misconnected on the outbound
