Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

Finnair & friends have published some decent summer J fares ex-HEL. JFK, WAS, BOS ~1300 €, ORD ~1400,... Outbound must be in July or August. On sale until Monday. Min stay 7 days.

Of course slightly cheaper fares (JFK ~1200 €) can be found at least ex-CPH.

Miikkak, for the above min stay 7 days is not true. There seems to be no minimum.

Looks like the fare has been amended, and there's now a minimum in place on oneworld partners with the exception of US Airways.

Do we think this promotion will reappear this year? I'm about to book a HEL-LHR-HEL in June and would vey much like to upgrade at least one of the legs to C.

It's been around for a few years now, I'd be surprised if it didn't make a return tbh.

I guess nothing's for sure though.

Previous years this upgrade promotion has also been together with the winter sales. However, this winter AY didn't have the upgrade promotion. I'm afraid it won't come with the summer sales either but I hope I'm wrong.

Traditionally summer sale offers have been published the first Tuesday after Vappu. This year might be different as Finnair didn't offer 50 % discount in December but depending on availability I would consider waiting with upgrade request for one week.

That's my conclusion as well - wait roughly 10 days and then apply for the upgrade. Thanks for the input everyone!

this is also the case this year. Usually the offers "go live" at 8 am (EET)on May 5

Hopefully the -50 % SH upgrade would return, as it is the best way to use points.

It would seem 5.5 is the date for the summer sales to begin (sorry, only found it in Finnish), and the wording suggests some AY+ member benefits as well. Fingers crossed it involves the discount upgrades. ^

I'm not quite sure how the numbers added up, but a recent HEL-NRT in C bagged 38.250 award points. There is the double points promo, the Stockman promo, the tier bonus, whatnot, but if these were made permanent, I wouldn't even glance at AA or BA programs ^

Is that oneway or rt? Honestly other then the upgrDe possibilities what does 40k rdm get you with ay?

The reason I value AA more is simply the flexibility to use miles.... When I status matched to AY gold after malevs demise I was amazed how little value I got for my points after taxes etc...

I'm guessing oneway - He's on the double points promo + stockmann + possibly some AY tier bonus, all stacked on top of eachother = 225% (on top of the 200% COS)

But I agree on the redeeming. If those promos were on tier points and counting towards lifetime, then hell yeah.

I did actually sign up for the Japan 2x promo, but in the end I bought a QR ticket. Go figure.

For oneway thats fairly good I think the aa program giving 20000rdm for a rt to asia for plat and above which equals a one way to USA... It would be intresting to try a switch to AY as a secondary program to go with my AA EXP(this year) but Im too lazy to start at zero 😂😂
