Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

I got the same email. What about giving some status to Platskus for free and by that way trying to win them over from... errr, yeah, from whom? Sokos? The Finnish duopoly hotel industry must be one of the lamest in the Western world.
cistavoda and Clydez like this.

I got that invite too.

5 nights x3 is 15, which gets you "Level 3" in scandic friends, a 5 tier program. Even before the fifth tier was introduced, Level three didn't do much for me.

N.b. I am very happy they are finally doing something with hotel programs, but this simply is not for me.

I got it too, and I assume it was for all Finnair Plus status holder of a defined level.

I am a little pissed with Scandic as I got 5 nights over exactly 365 days, and they did not count that as valid qualification...

Are there ever any promotions from MLA (Malta) to SIN?

A friend and I need to fly to SIN but at the time we will be in different places, MLA and WAW respectively. I'm seeing some great offers from WAW from mid-October but unfortunately he's having less luck with prices more than double those of mine!

Lost cause or does Malta occasionally see some great fares?

Whole Malta has less inhabitants than Helsinki city itself. I don't see the market and also AY does not have a dedicated site. Therefore I assume it's a lost cause.

I agree, which is exactly why I thought that they would have special offers since AY has MLA in its route map.

So with little direct traffic I would think that they would want to fill these planes with transit passengers looking for long-haul travel...

MLA is a seasonal route and clientele is more or less leisure oriented and AY has set the schedules accordingly. ie. no particular asian connections in mind.

Your best option is probably to fly your friend in MLA-WAW and jointly fly WAW-SIN.

Are there ANY hotel programs that have status based on a rolling status year? I know some airlines do but I dont recall many hotels with such,

If you by rolling year mean a personal date set by when you enter the program, then yes. Nordic Choice has that. Your qualification year ends at end of the motnth 12 m after joining

PS
still won't help the 365-dayer, unless first stay is on the 1.st of month and you join the program on that day

Log into longhaul inflight wifi with your AY+# and receive 500 points. My points from yesterday's flight posted within hours. ^
I wonder if it's one-time only, or once per flight.

The system now asks if you want to log in and get 500 points. Next, there's a window for your AY+# & PIN. (After that, you still need to log in with your surname & seat#, so the whole process is useless, but definitely worth 500 points )

Do we still get only one hour free as AY+ Gold while in longhaul Business class? I'm hoping it would be changed into 2 hours: 1 (Gold tier) + 1 (business seat)...
