Current and historical promotions
This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.
The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

I guess AY+ has a lot of non-status members with just a few points in their account. Maybe signed up for the program at the airport/onboard due to someone at AY told them to. To them maybe 2k points seems like something valuable.
I guess the theory behind such a promo is to activate this large number of people. If you have one million inactive flyers, getting 0,1% of them taking a flight in june would impact loadfactor/revenue a bit.

The pax w/o status usually only care about the lowest price anyway so getting 2k AY points isn't enough to make many pax to choose AY over competition, that's what I think, do these people even know about such a promo..and again, most non-frequent travelers tend to book their travels months and months in advance.
Such a promo will just put 2k extra to the accounts of normal AY FFs, that's about it.
Just my 2 cents.

that seems about the value I place on AY points 
About the only good value is the occassional 5000pt J upgrade specials
It is beyond me why AY doesnt try to attract more AY members to attain status with them instead of paying for miles to OW airlines.

the two upgrades were decent before but they really need to step things up at diners to make themselves more appealing

On Monday AY will release their summer promo fares. Historically this hasn't been anything too exciting, but you never know.
I'm betting it'll be the major cities + summer destinations around the Med and one or two Asia destinations. No advertised fares in J.

The points&cash offer to BKK is almost appalling (as mentioned many times here),
Finnair.se sells BKK J tickets at 12.990 SEK (~1.450 €).
