Platinum certs at Savoy in London
Has anyone used the free night, suite upgrade, dinning certs, or the authentic local cuisine for two certificate at the Savoy... any problems... what was the local cuisine?

Free night is tough to use but not impossible. I don't think they allow suite upgrade certs. You can use room upgrade certs for 1 level. I used it once for the highest tier nonsuite and it wasn't that great. Authentic cuisine is in Kaspers I believe. There have been some experiences posted if you search the Fairmont forum.

Suite upgrades are specifically not allowed at the Savoy. Room upgrades are allowed. I used a room upgrade there and got a Luxury King Room, and they gave me one with a river view. It was very good.
I've not used a free night there. Those are capacity controlled at the Savoy. That property, along with the Plaza, has always had special rules.

Ive used all of them over the years free nights (which are, as indicated above, very strictly capacity-controlled and usually need to be booked way in advance, unless you get lucky and hit a recent cancellation), a suite upgrade years ago, before they were disallowed, room upgrades often, and dining certificatesthe latter at Kaspars, but IIRC I used the authentic local dining experience cert at Simpsons some years back.

+ dining certs
Yes.
I have used free night certs @ this property & have booked two more nights next Feb.
Another (surprising) feature. I was able to use Plat dining certs to pay for afternoon tea. I can no longer do that @ Chateau Laurier so The Savoy is an exception.
I love this property. The location (banks of the Thames) is idyllic. The pool is awesome and the rooms have o/s features e.g. soaker tubs.

I don't think you can use the suite upgrades, or I definitely would have in the past! Room upgrades are not an issue, though.
