Exciting News Announcement from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

We’re very excited to share that Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will soon join one of the world’s largest hospitality groups, AccorHotels, alongside our sister brands Raffles Hotels & Resorts & Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. Together we will be able to better serve you, our loyal guests, by providing even more exciting hotel choices and a greater selection of amazing destinations to explore.

This transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in mid-2016. Until then, FRHI and AccorHotels will continue to operate as separate companies and as of today there are no changes to loyalty benefits or any upcoming reservations.

As always, our dedicated colleagues around the world remain focused on delivering unparalleled guest service and unique and meaningful travel experiences whenever you stay with us. http://bit.ly/1lPcdXc

Absolutely terrible news. I can't think of a worse fit for Fairmont. Our beloved FPC program will be shredded to the Accor points program, and my stays will go from 50/year to 0.

NOOOOOO!!!OOOOOOHH!!!!HHSSSHHHHH>>>>>>>>>>>>TTTTTT TTTTTTTTT NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Man, Accor IMHO is the absolute worst.. some of the hotels are fine, Sofitel of course being the one chain of note but still, I really feel Fairmont is FAR superior..

Hopefully, the loyalty programs won't change TOO dramatically especially for the 113

Ditto. Today marks the end of a great run for me and Fairmont. I'm changing my reservation that had me at the Fairmont YVR in two weeks.

RIP Fairmont!!

Amex Cent comped me Accor Platinum. I have never stayed there once.

Even IHG would be better than Accor.

Exciting News Announcement from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

Who says that fpc will get integrated or swallowed by Le Club? Maybe they will abandon the voucher style program and come up with something completely new?

Agreed.

The announcement make the Platinum certificates for the upcoming year all that more precious - it's almost for certain that they will disappear in the new Accor loyalty scheme.

Going to be very strategic in where we use them this year and make sure we visit the all the Fairmont hotels that are still on our bucket list.

Well, Accor must have been looking hard to find some serious premium hotels to be upping their brand. Now they seem tho have found it.

For those loyal to Fairmont these must be some very bad news.

And the previous posters will most likely be right, their nice club programme will be shred to pieces.

Hope they keep everything separate. I don't see a very good fit in the Accor program.

I'm excited to use my free night with suite upgrade at the Ibis Tehran Airport (IKA).

RIP Lifetime Platinum.

I really wonder what will happen with the Fairmont branded credit card and the points on it.

I am very sad, as I loved the Fairmont, I planned all my travel around their hotels.

I also wonder what will happen to the Fairmont "time share type" "owners" they have. I would think this would be a huge blow to them.

When my regular little time share (no way related to Fairmont) in the mountains got taken and made into a larger unit, they would not let me get out of the time share thing, even though there was no longer any unit with three beds. They forced me to change my date, location, and made me pay more money to do it. You basically have no rights if you are any kind of time share type "owner."
