AAA/CAA No Longer a Qualifying Rate for a Qualifying Stay?

I was perusing the FAQ section of the Fairmont President's Club webpage, and stumbled upon this:

Q: What is considered a qualifying stay?

A: A qualifying stay is booked under one of the following rates: published rack, package and corporate. Examples of non-eligible stays are discounted rates (AAA, CAA, AARP), meetings, conventions, groups and government rates.

To receive stay credit, reservations must be made at qualifying rates. Qualifying rates are determined by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and can be deemed non-qualifying at any given time, without prior notice. Travel industry rates (including, but not limited to airline crew rates, travel agent rates and tour group escort rates) will not be considered qualifying rates toward member status. Complimentary or barter room stays or any stays booked through online channels where the brand is unknown at the time of purchase (including but not limited to Priceline.com, Hotwire.com) are considered as not qualifying and will not be eligible for credit. Group bookings of 10 or more rooms are not eligible for stay credit.

A similar response is given in relation to a question about earning airline miles for a qualifying stay.

Has FPC changed the terms and conditions lately? I've been getting stay credit on all of my bookings made on the AAA/CAA rate, but wondering if something has changed (or is about to change).

Thoughts?

Strange indeed. I´m 99% sure AAA/CAA rates always qualified for stay/night credit.

It´s true that most rates do not qualify for earning miles, but pretty much any rate bookable on the Fairmont website has qualified for stay/night credit IME.

I use AAA all the time and get credited for the stays.

IME, I receive credit to profile for all stays utilizing AAA/CAA rates. These rates allow for use of suite and room upgrade certs as well.

The FAQ has changed. Likely the original was a mistake. You don't get airline miles with AAA rates though, from my experience. But stay credit, yes.

The change reported by Choptliva is that the first paragraph of the answer to Q7 quoted in the OP has been removed while the 2nd one remains. However, a new Q13 has been added: "What is considered a qualifying stay to earn airline miles? (Bolding mine.)
To which the answer is as quoted in the OP.

One nice thing about Fairmont is that stays booked by choosing the Fairmont Hotel on 3rd-party sites are not categorically disallowed, but "can be deemed non-qualifying at any given time, without prior notice."

Really? Bookings from a third party site (non-opaque) qualifies for stays? If this is true then fairmont must be the only one allowing this
