Gleneagles in Scotland up for sale, could Fairmont buy it?
There were media reports over the weekend that venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup, Gleneagles Hotel is to be sold by their current owners Diageo PLC.

I think this would be a perfect fit for the Fairmont brand. The hotel has been extensively refurbished for the Ryder cup and a reputation for one of the best hotels in the UK. Fairmont do have St Andrews but Gleneagles is in a different league.

I told my father if we can raise the Ł20m we can get the rest on a loan from RBS then we could duly franchise it as a Doubletree.
