Hello all, I'm the founder of chictravel.ai

I'm building a free travel planning tool (I know you heard this many times) that is focused on one thing. Being pleasant to use.
With the age of AI, there is too much garbage in garbage out sort of apps. No UX research, no design philosophy, quality completely missing.

This means that unlike Tripit or <YOU NAME IT> AI Planner, my app cares about how you use it and interact with it.

Travel planning must be fun, simple, fluid and fast. That's my philosophy.
I invested a lot in the architecture of the app to make things like loading screens almost non existent or to a minimum among other things.

Would really like some input and support of something built around this idea.
I recently got laid of after 8 years in software engineering at a not so high paying position as a head of household so it would really mean a lot to me for any subscriptions
but core features are free.

A new feature just got released today as well...

Again that is chictravel.ai
Thank you!

Hi All,

Long-time reader, first time posting a tool here. I'm Daan, the developer behind Miles Mosaic (milesmosaic.com), flagging up front that this is a maker introduction rather than a neutral review. I'm posting in Travel Tools because this is exactly the audience I built it for, and I'd genuinely value FlyerTalk-level scrutiny.

The problem I wanted to solve isn't "how many miles do I have?" but: will the trips I've already flown or booked actually get me requalified or achieve a higher level?
Miles Mosaic is built around status achievement and renewal. You log your flights, hotel stays and planned trips, then see where you stand against each tier and whether you're on track, short by a few nights, short by a few segments, missing qualifying points, and so on.

Current coverage is 31 loyalty programmes (24 airline and 7 hotel), plus the major transferable bank currencies (Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Capital One, Bilt, and DBS/UOB/HSBC for anyone out this way).

Status comes first, but it also tracks reward points and balances, so there's one place to see both your loyalty balances and your elite-status progress.

Beyond the loyalty side, it logs flights and hotel stays and builds them into dashboards — routes flown, nights by chain, travel history, yearly patterns. So it's partly a status tracker, partly a travel log.

There's also Atlas, an AI advisor inside the app. You can ask questions about your own portfolio, for example:

How far am I from renewing status?

Which programmes have points expiring soon?

Which trips are helping me most towards requalification?

What am I missing to reach the next tier?

Atlas doesn't book anything, access your accounts, or act on your behalf. It only reasons over the data you've added.

Data goes in by upload or import, confirmation emails, PDFs, screenshots or CSV files. Because it isn't dependent on live account scraping, it can still be useful for programmes where automated refreshes are difficult, unreliable or blocked.

Two tiers:

Explorer — free, ad-supported

Pro — $14.99/month, removes ads and unlocks the more advanced tools (tier simulator, transfer calculator, unlimited trip planning, Atlas)

A few honest caveats:

It's a web app / PWA, not a native App Store or Play Store app.

The value-of-a-mile / cents-per-mile side isn't live yet.

It's still evolving, and I expect frequent flyers will spot edge cases I've missed.

What I'd really appreciate from this forum:

Which airline or hotel programmes are missing?

Feedback on the UX/UI and any essential functions missing.

Which tier rules should I double-check?

What would you expect a serious status tracker to do?

Is the status-renewal angle actually useful, or would you expect something different?

Any red flags in how this is positioned?

I'm glad to comp Pro access for anyone willing to put the advanced tools through their paces and report back on where they break. Blunt feedback is what I'm after, that's partly why I'm posting here rather than only asking casual travellers.

I created an app that I'd love some real world feedback on. The concept is simple: The app will help you determine when to leave for the airport in order to catch your flight. Obviously if you're going straight from your house to the airport, you likely don't need an app for that. But what I've always struggled with during my business travel is being onsite at a customer or event somewhere and say I have a rental car to return. The rental depot is offsite so I'll need to catch a shuttle from the depot to the airport. Oh and I haven't eaten yet and really want to budget time for a quick food stop. And once I get to the airport, I know this particular airport has a tram to get from TSA to the gate so I want to factor some extra time for that. The point being, there can be a lot of stopping and waiting that you want to budget time for in order to determine when you need to leave your current location. That's what this app helps with. And once you've figured all of that out, you can save it as a profile for destinations you travel to frequently.

At the moment this is iOS only. I may work on an Android port once I've worked through my backlog.

I have a bunch of new features on the backlog such as:

Share sheet integration

Improved UX around saving and updating profiles. I realize it's a little clunky now

A user guide

Time to leave notifications

Possible integration with Dynamic Island

Possible Apple Watch companion app

Cloud profiles

Hi everyone,

I’m one of the people building Jumpseat, a new iOS app for flight tracking with a social layer.

The idea came from something we felt was missing in most travel apps: they are great at showing schedules, alerts, aircraft info, and personal flight history, but they usually stop there. For a lot of people, travel is also social. You might want to see where your friends are flying, share a trip photo around a specific flight, or follow someone’s journey without needing to ask for updates in a group chat.

That is what we are trying to build with Jumpseat. It lets you track your flights, share them with friends, see your friends’ upcoming and past flights, and post moments tied to the trip.

I’m posting here because FlyerTalk has the exact type of users we want honest feedback from: people who actually fly, care about travel tools, and probably already know what existing apps do well or badly.

Let me know if anyone is interested in trying it out :)

We have an old thread, thought we needed some new discussion The folks at tripsy have been cranking away and adding tons of functionality. I have used TripIt for 17 years and have moved on, Tripit looks so stale Tripsy also imports all current and past trips and generates a "Flightly" like dashboard

For starters, I love that a forwarded email automatically becomes an attachment! Tripit didn't and to attach anything, it had to be saved then uploaded.

Last week they added a MCP connection to Claude (I have it working with Poke as well)

Super cool that I can take a pic of a plan and have it added to my itinerary. I can use Claude to plan my trip and add tot he itinerary

I'm on a week trial, but I may just go for lifetime its that good,

Any other apps I should consider? (I have lifetime Flighty)

I built out a little web app, https://inair.online/, to find flights with Starlink!

For close-in flights with tail # assigned, it shows if that aircraft has Starlink (as well as fleet install rate in case of a tail swap)

For flights weeks/months away ... it shows probability of having Starlink based on airline + aircraft type (with forward looking predictions for install rate, e.g., for Southwest flights this fall, its possible -- although unlikely -- that your flight will have Starlink even though they don't have any Starlink installs yet today)

You can also see the fleet install progress at https://inair.online/airline

Currently this is only for US airlines, but I'll be expanding it to Canada soon (Westjet has lots of Starlink planes, Air Canada has a few) and then rest of world if there's interest.

Feedback appreciated -- this is a hobby project of mine!

If you're planning your summer trip, I think our new ChatGPT app (yes, it's native inside of ChatGPT, find it in their app store) can help. The problem we're solving is that custom map making is too manual, too rigid, and isn't easy enough to share

Install it from the ChatGPT app store here: CHATGPT APP LINK and the simply use it in your next chat with "@Map Maker" (the @ tells ChatGPT what app to use)

Here's an example of what you can do in chat:

extract all the locations in this PDF and map them

add/remove location X to the map

find the best beaches in location Y and add them to the map

map the locations in this tiktok travel video: <link to share tiktok.com video url>

map all of the michelin rated restaurants in city Z

<click share> to generate a unique url and share with your travel group

zoom in/out/click each location to see photos and get quick links to phone/website/directions

click the location bullseye to see where you are on the map and see at a glance what's nearby

Example of roadtrip map that a customer recently made:
