AEP - Jorge Newbery Airport, which is the second airport serving Buenos Aires will remain closed for 2 days later this year, from August 25th to August 27th to complete some scheduled expansion/maintenance of the runway and other facilities. A good portion of flights during this period will be moved to EZE, but as the main international airport does not have the capacity to absorb all the AEP flights, some 35-40% of flights are expected to be cancelled.

Planning an itinerary; fortnight in Argentian followed by a couple of days in Rio. We want to end the Argentine trip by taking in the falls with a couple of days at Iguazu; are there any reasons not to fly into IGR and then border-hop to Brazil to fly out of IGU to Rio? (The tours we are eying up include a border crossing in any case so that you can see the falls from both sides). I suppose the easiest thing is to stay on the Brazilian side once there? Any tips or warnings very welcome, thank you.
