Has anyone else run into this with JAL domestic First Class and partner programme earning?

I booked Okinawa–Tokyo–Sapporo in JAL First Class and only discovered after ticketing that the booking was issued in A class. Cathay Pacific has now confirmed that this fare earns no Asia Miles and no Status Points on domestic sectors.

What frustrates me isn’t necessarily the earning rate itself. Airlines can set whatever accrual rules they want.

The issue is transparency.

During the booking process I could not find any disclosure of the booking class. Without knowing the booking class, it is impossible to check partner earning charts before purchase. The only reason I found out was because I contacted Cathay afterwards and asked them to investigate.

How are customers supposed to make an informed decision when the information needed to determine mileage and status earning isn’t visible before payment?

I find it particularly odd given that this is a genuine JAL First Class ticket, not a heavily discounted economy fare. Many frequent flyers would reasonably assume that a First Class ticket on a oneworld carrier would earn at least some miles or status credit with a partner programme.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to see the booking class during the JAL booking flow that I overlooked, or is this information genuinely hidden until after ticketing?

Interested to hear whether others have experienced the same issue and whether any partner programmes credit these domestic A class fares differently.
That said, I’m very used to hyperbole of the travel blogger crowd, I’m a fairly small person, and I plan to entrust my voyage across the Pacific to Ambien for this particular flight.

Is this seat truly so bad that it’s noticeably worse than, say, Delta’s old NW A330 biz seats? What is so terrible about this seat?? To the extent it matters, I’m in 1A.
It seems like there are three total seats left on the day I’m traveling (~2.5 weeks out), no award inventory, and one additional waitlisting passenger. I have no status with JL.

Does JL routinely offer every open F seat to waitlisters in the hours/day leading up to departure? This will help me determine how much of a lost cause this is.

Does anyone have recent experience accessing this lounge while flying JL not in F, but with OW E status? This will be my situation in a few weeks. Very much hoping they honor their admission policy as listed on the OW website and let me in.

Hi

I’m flying Japan Airlines domestic and have One World Sapphire status via Royal Jordanian. I’ve added the RJ number to the JAL booking.

Does anyone know if the extra baggage allowance extends to each person on the itinerary or if it only would apply to the me as the Sapphire member?

I believe it's unfortunately only me as the Sapphire member but though I'd double check as we stupidly made an assumption initially we'd both get it but think that may be wrong.

We are flying economy so standard baggage allowance I believe is 20kg each. Reading the guidance I think I should get at least an extra 15kg bag as the OW Sapphire member but just not sure if partner on the same itinerary will get it or not.

Thanks

Thanks
