I'm 5'11", so not sure I will run into the issue that I hear about with tall people and the awkward lie-flat angle with SQ business. Will also be traveling with the wife and kids in J as well.

But I hear that the bed is hard on SQ but soft product is much better -- though maybe the new UA Polaris 2.0 will have improved soft product? Curious if anyone has had any experiences with both. Thank you!

I (along with 7 family members) was booked to fly HYD-SIN-DPS in J in August. Tickets were booked months ago, mix of SQ awards as well as paid.

I woke up this morning to a flurry of emails from SQ, with the subject being “Changes to seat selection” but upon further investigation, all the itineraries were moved ahead by 1 full day.
I get it, schedule changes happen. But weirdest part was that SQ continues to sell our originally booked dates/flights/itinerary.
Called SQ and agent was clueless. Put me on hold for 30 minutes, and came back to say “website and aircraft had operation issues, so canceled”

Any idea what to do? SQ doesn’t seem to see that they’re still selling the originally booked flight, so no clue why this change was made. If the original flight is indeed canceled, I’ll cancel all tickets for a refund and book on CX. Seems like getting a straight answer will be a pain, however.

Not a great experience

SPPS counter is on 50,000 to achieve meaning to get it, I would need to get 75,000 this year, which would definitely be a but too far away.
I will get at least another 35,000 but not 50,000 before May 27.
Have I read this wrong ?

Saw that Madrid's city hall announced a new air link with Singapore, which led me to check SQ's latest announcements.

Looks like SQ 377/378 (SIN-MXP-BCN/BCN-MXP-SIN) will end in October, ending the Barcelona-Milan fifth-freedom route. Instead SQ is amplifying its direct services to Milan, and changing its Barcelona flights to fly onwards to Madrid.

I doubt Spain has given SQ cabotage rights to transport passengers domestically on BCN-MAD, obviously. So there goes one of the few options to fly a full-service carrier intra-EU on a widebody.

Does Singapore Airlines offer codeshare flights on any Star Alliance partners? I need to fly from California to India in 2027 and there are several flights available from SFO and LAX that could work. Unfortunately I live near Sacramento and can’t book any flights with Singapore Airlines between SMF and LAX/SFO. This forces me to book two tickets, lug my bag across a large airport and then pay a second baggage fee for the short flight. Isn’t there a better way for the airlines to handle this? Of course United is even worse. They have flights from SMF to SFO but then refuse to coordinate with the easily available morning flight on Singapore Airlines and also have no availability in premium economy on the Singapore Airlines flight they do acknowledge. The icing on the cake with United is the final fare: double what Singapore Airlines is offering.

Hi all,

I received a status match with TK from QF Platinum two years ago and have made my way up to Elite Plus with TK... which is equivalent to *A Gold, Gold with SQ. But without the random J upgrades if flying in Y or two upgraded trips to J vouchers.

Just completed a SIN to LGW in Y, it would have earned me around 13,000 SQ miles, and I have a return to add on the PER to SIN legs I started on (this week)

Now, would it be worth jumping to SQ knowing that I'd only need to complete that trip twice in a year to get SQ Silver?

This year I've completed and will complete a total of 6-7 European trips from Australia return, three trips to Japan with ANA or can choose SQ.

Thoughts?

Hi all,
First time SQ flyer here, booked 2 awards tickets from MLE->SIN->TPE for Business class thru AC. It seems currently SQ has cancelled the SIN->TPE flight, SQ 872, from their 2026 and 2027 calendar, cannot find any SQ 872 cash or awards anymore, flight status is shown as unavailable. However, on both SQ and AC my ticket status is still shown as confirmed, no prompts for rebooking... I believe SQ pulled SQ 872 for more than 1 week now, maybe even 2, and still no updates. My flight isn't until 2027 so there isnt a rush, I can still select seats on this segments. Any thoughts ?

Hi all,

Has anyone traveled in Suites recently from Delhi to Singapore? Was curious if SQ is sending its suites passengers to encalm prive still or if they've upgraded to the new Encalm Xenia? Unfortunately I'm hearing AI is turning away Star alliance partner passengers from its new lounge even for first class. I hope anyone who has traveled recently can speak to the contrary but otherwise it would be disappointing to see suites passengers being sent to encalm prive when 2 superior eligible options exist. Looking forward to hearing back any recent data points. Thanks!

We (family of 4) have an overnight layover at Changai, arriving on SQ, departing the next day on UA. We're going to stay at the Airport hotel and will have checked bags, which I realize we won't be able to access at the hotel.

I was told the best thing to do is do a carry-on overnight bag on the inbound flight, spend the night, then go through immigration and customs in the morning to claim our bags and then re-check them.
I was told not to go through immigration and not to leave the secure area until morning.
I was told that all 4 of us will need to be present to collect our bags.
UA flight is at 8:45am. I'm thinking about checking out of the hotel at 4:45am to be at the UA counter at 5:45am, as soon as they open.

1. Is this enough time?
2. Any other advice or good info I should consider?

Another interesting fact is that I was assigned 16E as the "the best available seats on your Scoot flight for Elite Silver, Elite Gold and PPS Club members". Not sure how the alogrithm works in terms of how they classify which is the best available seat.

I had the chance to experience SQ J for the first time and was lucky enough to score 10A on SQ22 (SIN-EWR). I figured other first-timers might appreciate the review. I am comparing this to my only other SQ flight, #191 HAN-SIN on the A350MH (Seat 12K). In terms of comfort, I found the MH seat plenty wide and a thousand times better than both the BR 777-300 and NH 787-8 (old configs for both) J seats. The ULR seat was just as comfortable. I did prefer the plush fleece of the MH blanket but the ULR blanket was still very soft just not plush.

One thing people might wonder is how I got 10A without being a Kris Flyer member never mind PPS. I set a seat alert for all of the bulkhead seats and about 4 months after booking I got an alert that 10A opened. I was able to log in on the app grab it. I never got an alert for the other seats. So while they may block it for PPS, it is somehow possible to snag. For reference I purchased May 2025 for travel in March 2026 and at time of purchase all bulkheads were shown are unavailable. The bulkhead opened in October and my guess is someone switched their flight so I got lucky.

First, to clarify a point that many people ask - if being next to galley closets bothersome. My answer is not really. They only went into those cabinets around takeoff and landing. One is like a garbage can flap where they put dirty linens, another is where they have socks and eye masks and the large one had about 6 hangers in it for passenger coats. The others I didn't see what was in them. After takeoff a curtain was drawn to block light from the front galley. They absolutely use the front galley. It seemed to be primarily for drinks, cutlery and arranging the trays that are set down with the dessert and sides pre-main course. I could hear the silverware clinking when my headphones were off. I used ear plugs while sleeping and it didn't bother me at all. So YES, you can hear noise from the galley but no, its not the closets directly next to you. Bring ear plugs and you'll be fine. For those who are sensitive to odors, there were no smell of food cooking from that galley.

As for space - it was phenomenal. I never used the footwell. I was able to curl up and use the extra ledge while sleeping and that was enough for me. Once I put the slippers on I used the ledge as a footrest when seated normally and it was a great in between option. I really hope the retrofitted ULR's either give this ledge to all seats or have a vastly improved footwell/sleeping position.

For the meals, I had the char siew noodles and lobster. The noodles were identical to what I had on my HAN-SIN flight. I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat much of it. The famous lobster....I'm glad I tried it but I wouldn't order it again. It was much too rich for my taste. If you don't like overly rich creamy things, steer clear. Meanwhile, if you don't like lobster but love rich creamy sauces, then this is for you as I could barely taste the lobster. Toward the end of the flight I asked if they had extra satay. The flight attendant told me the chicken might be a little dry and I said as long as there was sauce it was ok. I was given 5 skewers with a heaping amount of sauce and it was great. It was perfect right before landing.

The crew was fantastic. Half way through the flight I asked for an amenity kit but I forgot to try and ask for the bear. The only thing that struck me as odd is that my 3 hour flight from HAN had 2 water bottles waiting for me when I boarded and the 18 hour flight to EWR only had 1.

In short, a fantastic experience made even better by having plenty of space. If you have a ULR flight coming up, definitely set a seat alert and see if you can snag it too.

Cheers!
