Everytime I open the app or log in to manage my booking I get this message. But the flights remain the same ones I booked and I click accept new flights and next time same message. I assume I am just stuck in a meaningless IT loop. EK chat was unhelpful at understanding what I was talking about. Any thoughts?

Hi all,
Im currently Gold with EK and have been for a little while now. Ill end my year at about 110k Tier Miles, so just short of the 120k reduced target. My real question is, should I be spending my own money to upgrade to Business Class for leisure trip in June (around $4k), just to get to the Platinum requirement, or be happy with Gold.
Im based out of Dubai, only fly business class with work, which is fairly frequent. The real reward for this status is for me and my family when we travel for leisure, which is always Economy. I know id get to nominate gold, so thats a bonus, but also not entiely necessary as i get my wife into the lounge for free and my children are very young so they usually get a free pass anyway.

Not looking to get a full war and peace on this, just maybe a steer as to if people think the jump is worth it in terms of general benefits.

Thanks in advance.

EK384, two tickets, same plane, two legs, experiences on DXB-BKK-HKG

I've often wondered about whether this was possible or not, and how so.

I ended up in a tricky timing situation where I needed to do BKK-DXB-MAN-DXB-BKK // BKK-HKG, and chose First. When booking about a ten days out the BKK-HKG leg was showing full, so I'd made alternative plans. However a few days later it opened up so I booked a new ticket to arrive earlier into HKG and in style.

I'd always wondered if I would need to go out and transfer, or if I could stay on the plane. As it was, it was fairly smooth, though the points below need to recognise I was in First on both legs and had only hand luggage. I suspect it didn't matter but I was Skywards Silver too.

This is how I managed to stay on the plane:

Emailed the Emirates HKG sales office explaining the situation with the two tickets

They responded saying that they'd linked the tickets and let BKK know. And I'd be fine to stay on the plane, though would have to move seats. They definitely did link the tickets in the system as EK staff could see those two linked bookings on other unrelated interactions.

Did online checkin for all legs & the two tickets during the normal window for such a thing

On my way back I did try and let everyone know about the situation, however neither MAN or DXB were able to print a paper boarding pass for the final leg, think the double EK384 was part of the challenge.

The purser on the DXB-BKK leg took charge and confirmed on arrival into BKK that I could stay on the flight, though with a different seat from my boarding pass. The crew wasn't aware though.

Someone from ground staff came and took a picture of my boarding pass whilst the aircraft was being turned around. At this point I presume with a bag you could also fix it

The next day all the miles posted properly, and seperately

So there you go, EK384 to EK384 on two tickets, without leaving the plane.

However... we landed 30 minutes early into BKK at 1145. There is no service on the plane for at least an hour whilst they changed over the crew (new crew came on at 1245, immediately said Hi) and cleaned. The entertainment did work, but was reset. Champagne poured at 1310 after boarding started for a 1400 departure.

As such in reality you may have preferred to get off and then on again to stretch your legs, use the lounge, and get a drink.

PS annoying as the WiFi didn't work on the plane so I couldn't watch my boarding pass change seats, which was an old old A380.

I've just done BKK-DXB-MAN, in first flex and then business flex plus, upgraded to First with miles.

I'm sure that when I was booking there was some offer mentioned on the return business flights that I chose which meant I earned bonus Tier Miles on the return leg. In my mind I was going to earn about 14k miles vs the 11k standard. That drove me to choose a slightly higher ticket price.

However, at least one day in, only the standard tier point miles have posted, and a few quick clicks around the mobile app didn't show a similar offer. The ticket had a few changes made to it beyond the upgrade due to the airspace changes, so I could see how that underlying bonus could be lost.

Two questions
1. Have I imagined those bonus Tier Miles? Or if not, where does it show on your ticket or reservation?
2. When would those normally post? I.e. If they didn't post immediately should I raise a ticket or wait.

I wouldn't typically care that much on EK, but I'm now 100 Tier Miles short of a Gold upgrade.

TIA,

Is there a chance that booking economy and upgrading at check in will be less than £900? It looks like there are 9+ seats left in business on every daily flight.

Tempted to risk it for a cheaper upgrade, but I feel like it won't drop much lower

Hi All,

Looking to fly with EK for the first time next month - may book as a Emirates Holiday as it appears to book into a more favorable fare bucket in Business Class that includes lounges and chauffer.

My first question is - are these Holidays able to be upgraded to F from J using miles?
Second question - is there a way to check F reward availability. I am specifically looking for 2 x Pax DUB-DXB on or around the 22nd May? I could not tell if when I was using the website whether there was no availability or it was not searching correctly.

As I have never flown with EK, I would need to purchase the miles in order to facilitate this upgrade, but it still works out significantly cheaper than the cash F fare. Appreciate the help.
