Cancellation fee for a Y flex ticket has increased by way too much; defeats the main purpose of buying a supposedly-flexible 'flex' ticket

I know from experience that the wifi speeds on the last couple of frames delivered are better (comparable to the 77W) but often on the older aircraft it's next to unusable, especially these days with so many passengers getting complimentary access.

CX GO here.

I've got a paid CX ticket in Y spanning 2 legs on a single booking: TPE-HKG (CX flight on CX metal) and HKG-PEN (CX flight number on UO metal).

Question: Will I be eligible for CX lounge access while in transit in HKG?

I asked CX in Chat, was told NO, not eligible and pointed to the lounge eligibility guidelines: Lounge Admittance | Travel Information | Cathay Pacific

I then happened to be on a live phone call w/CX for another trip booking; raised the same question with the live agent, and was told YES, I am eligible.

So, which is it? Yes or No?

(The lounge eligibility guidelines on "Connecting Flights operated by UO" section up top seem quite clear cut -- reading that section by itself would seem to indicate I am NOT eligible for lounge access... but am curious if my CX GO status supercedes that?)

As always, turning to the collective wisdom of our FT crowd....
Today, May 4, I saw availbilty on both finnair and Cathay Asia miles but when I go and try and snag the award on both it gives me errors. Occasionally would disappear and reappear if I toggle the days. I was specially looking at HKG to LAX

I always thought if you see it on 2 different platforms, it wouldn't be phantom. Is that the correct thinking

Per title, I’m thinking of doing the two round trips as I’ve realized PVG-KUL gives value for money status points vs. HKG-KUL. My plan is to fly to PVG, then board the same drop flight to KUL, return to PVG, then board a same day flight back to HK. For the PVG-KUL leg there are long layovers in HK, but I figured it’s fine and I’ll just go home and come back out to the airport again.

I’m based in HK, hold a MY passport and have the mainland permit.

thoughts on whether this is doable? Thanks very much!

I understand Diamonds have plenty of redemption availability. But the cupboard seems bare for the rest of us trying to fly USA to HKG (in J). I understand CX flies a lot of routes USA-HKG and there may be an occasional open seat somewhdere, but for every route I've checked -- and I check daily within a 2-week window on every route out of North America -- there is nothing). Even checking random dates, like within the next few days or 365 days out... nothing.

It's known that the foolish American debacle in Iran is drastically impacting fuel prices for airlines. I wonder if CX has just decided to shut off redemptions for now given they don't have dynamic pricing on redemptions like they do on cash tickets?

Hello awesome folks:

I will arrive in Taipei from the US on a JX flight at 5:00am. I would like to connect to HKG on the same day on a different ticket.
I know that CX offers lots of flights between the two cities. However, suppose I choose a TPE-HKG departure on CX at 12pm and that my JX flight arrives on time, this means that my transit time is 7 hours. My question: it ok to check-in before 9am (3 hours before departure)?

I understand that I must clear immigration/claim luggage to enter landslide at TPE, check-in at CX, and then clear immigration to leave Taiwan.

Thank you a million!
