Looking at two areas for a ~3 month stay in London and would appreciate local opinions on the day-to-day feel/safety of the neighbourhoods.

Option 1: NW1 area around Camden / Chalk Farm / Primrose Hill fringe
Option 2: NW6 area around Kilburn / South Hampstead / West Hampstead fringe

Main concern is safety and general liveability for an extended stay rather than nightlife/tourism.

I know nowhere in London is completely crime-free, so I’m not asking in a dramatic “is this dangerous” sense — more whether these areas are materially different in terms of:

feeling safe walking home in the evening

phone theft / antisocial behaviour

whether one area feels noticeably rougher than the other

whether there are particular pockets/streets to avoid

For context:

likely remote working part of the time

not really into nightlife

would prefer somewhere that feels reasonably residential/liveable day-to-day

comfortable with normal big-city awareness

Would especially appreciate opinions from people who’ve actually lived in either area recently.

My flight from the US is scheduled to land at 6:45 AM later this month.

The destination is York so I believe it's about an hour to hour and a half Underground ride on the Piccadilly line to Kings Cross.

Would it be too optimistic to expect to clear immigration and reclaim baggage by say 7:45 and board the train to Kings Cross?

Then I'd have to have some time to find the platform for the train to York. Does anyone know the rules about changing if I miss the scheduled train?

For instance there's a train departing at 9:03 AM but if I don't make that, what would it take to switch to a later departing train?

does anyone use DublinExpress coaches for going between the DUB airport and Belfast City Centre? The travel time is shown as 1h55m on the website - is this reliable, or do coaches often arrive late?

Specifically, if I book DublinExpress to go from Belfast to DUB on a Sunday at 14:50, can I expect it to arrive in DUB on time?

Thanks :)
