The baggage office (Sita Global Tracing) gave me the online customer service email of Vietnam Airlines to ask about the reimbursement claim. I’ve emailed Vietnam Airlines on 23 April asking how I can submit my claim, and keep getting holding responses “we have forwarded your query to the relevant department who will contact you”. I’ve followed up twice via email and it’s the same response.

Since Vietnam Airlines own website specify that delayed luggage reimbursement claims must be submitted within 21 days and it’s now day 16 just waiting for Vietnam Airlines to advise on how to file the claim. Has anyone had any experience filing delayed luggage reimbursements with Vietnam Airlines? Any advice how to escalate this?

By any chance, do you know if Vietnam Airlines blocks first row seats for dedicated customers (with infants, etc)? If so, do you know when they are released?

Never flew CA or MU. Flew on NH about 15 years ago in Y. I'm mainly a UA flyer here in the USA.

Prices and Equipment:
MU - A330, $674US. Appears to be a 2x2x2 cabin
NH - 787, $1328US. Appears to be a 2x2x2 cabin
CA - A321, $1887US. Most likely a 2x2 cabin

I think I'm dismissing CA for the high price on a narrow-body. Regarding NH vs MU, is one that much better than the other? I've heard great things about NH's J service, but does it apply on such a short flight? Does anything negative stand out with MU that makes it so much less expensive? Both airlines have a schedule that works for us.

This might be a very niche question, but I'm trying to book SIN-FUN on Fiji Airways (via NAN)
This pops up on Google Flights, but only on sketchy OTAs.
If I try to book with FJ directly, FUN as a destination seems only an option from NAN/SUV.

I could piece together an itinerary with two separate flights (SIN-NAN and NAN-FUN), but I'm not sure I want to risk to misconnect.
Am I missing something?

Would a ticket via an OTA be valid? I find it weird that FJ isnt offering me this option. Rookie question, but how can an OTA offer more choices/options?

I'll get a hotel day room at LAX, but am curious if anyone has any recent experience flying business class, since I get contradictory info from FJ. The website says I can check my luggage at the counter 4 hours before the flight from LAX. I emailed them to verify, and that said 3 hours.

Also, was curious about lounge access for biz class Fiji Airways travelers at LAX Bradley Int'l Terminal. I phoned them and they said the One World lounge or the American Airlines Lounge. Their email said I could use the Alaska Airways lounge. And in any event, I could only access lounges 3 hours before my flight.

Wondering if anyone might have any recent insight to verify or narrow down any of this info?

Looking for some recent experiences with Air Astana’s baggage policy (IST --> DEL route, Economy “Classic” fare).

I have 1 checked bag included (23 kg), but my bag is currently around 28–29 kg (~5–6 kg overweight).

Context: On my inbound flight (DEL --> IST) about 2 weeks ago, my checked baggage was delayed and delivered to my hotel after ~3 days. During that time, I had to purchase clothes and essentials, which is what has pushed my baggage weight over the limit now.

In "Manage Booking" I only see an option to buy an extra piece (~$150 for another 23 kg), but no clear option for just overweight (23–32 kg).

A few questions:

1. For a single bag in the 23–32 kg range, does Air Astana charge a separate “overweight” fee, or is it effectively priced similar to an extra piece?
2. Has anyone had success getting overweight fees waived or reduced in situations linked to prior baggage delay (with PIR/receipts)?

Trying to decide whether to prepay or just handle it at the airport counter.

Would really appreciate any recent firsthand experiences.
