WOW, new elephant valley really gets you close to the giants! There are about a dozen, including one young male. The Valley is well laid out and has lots of railings, and stair bypasses (we and all those strollers). About 13 plus acres. Elephants are loving it. They were out at 9AM. There are two main areas, one either side of the visitor pathway. They clean one area while the elephants are in the other, then let the elephants change sides, while they clean the first. Once done both areas are populated. Lots of bench seating for visitors. Several donor recognition areas honor those that paid the substantial bill.

New dining. One building, down from the exhibit. Window service ( Tu Grill, opened at 10AM) is a few items like beef or chicken on skewers. There are standing areas, benches, bar tables and a coverer area not too far away with tables and chairs (outdoors). Skewer, rice and something else is $19 plus tax and beverage. Reservations for the main dining (Mkutano House, opens at 11AM) is available thru Open Table or walk up. Prices for Entre runs 23-52 plus drinks tax and tip. Upscale saucy foods. About 6 vegetarians, and similar meat. Seating is inside and outside. Not fancy. Plenty of small children. Upstairs is a lounge (Ona Lounge, also opens at 11AM.. Adults only (yeah). Simpler food, and some from the main dining room. $10 pp cover charge. Chairs, couches, stools. Adult drinks.

We went to the lounge. Quiet. Split a burger and ordered fries (turned out burger came with fries), So our potato consumption was very high. Only had several glasses of ice tea (free refills). 28, 13, 9 and 9, plus tax, less our donor level discount, plus 20 to get in, and an outrageous.. $80 CA wines, craft beer and specialty drinks available in both venues. Also drink sampling packages.

Viewing elephants is possible from any of these three, dependent on where you sit. Relatively small percentage. The watering hole is just outside the building. Patio and balcony seating.

That was our impression. I am sure there is much that could be added. Reservations we widely available for walk ups on our visit. We are told that weekend are full, or at least tight without reservations in advance..
