Hello,

New member here. Million miler, Titanium, Atmos Summit Cardholder, last year + this year so far over 315,000 status points accumulated. Nearly 100% of the time I'm no.1 on the upgrade list.
Wife (also Titanium, I share my status) and I flew on a companion ticket that was on her name to PDX this weekend and on both flights from ANC-PDX-ANC I was 3rd on the waitlist. I find it really very strange (coincidence?) that the two above me on the waitlist were also MMs, Titanium, etc. on both flights. I'm wondering if there’s something else in play here or hidden in their prioritization that I'm not aware of, does the use of companion certificate has any effect? Not sure if anyone has this experience.

Thank you.

TLDR - American has moved their checkin counter to SAN Terminal 2 West, and Hawaiian has moved over to T2E.

That means that only Alaska and Hawaiian are in Terminal 2 East. This should significantly help with security line waits, and sets the stage for when Delta moves to Terminal 1 and American moves their gates to the T2W pier allowing Alaska to take over all of T2 East.

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I've been designated as a travel companion for an Alaska Airlines employee, and I'm trying to find out which partner or interline airlines my companion benefits extend to.

The employee isn't sure of the answer and hasn't been able to find the right internal resource to check. As the companion, I don't have direct access to his employee portal, so I'm a bit stuck.

Has anyone navigated this before? Specifically, I'd love to know:

Which airlines typically honor Alaska employee companion travel benefits?

Is there a list of interline partners somewhere I can reference?

Is there anything the employee can look up on his end to get this information?

Any help is appreciated -- thank you in advance!

Had a trip to Canada and booked Porter through Alaska site. Wasn't sure what to expect since its a smaller airline, but while flying them I had a strange sensation. One of those "I've been here before" moments and it took me a while to realize that it really reminded me of what flying Alaska was like up until a few years ago. All the staff from check in agents, gate agents, fight attendants and pilots were super nice. Took the time to talk to customers, helped with bags, and generally went out of their way to provide service. FAs tried to fit more bags into overhead bins so people didn't have to gate check them. They didn't nickel and dime customers and put couples next to each other even when you didn't pay for assigned seating (this seems to be their policy). Multiple rounds of snacks and drinks including free wine and beer even on short flights. Even did a full drink/snack service on a short 50 minute flight. It was both refreshing and a sad reminder of how few AS flights as like this now - would be lucky if they don't pull the no/limited service due to "turbulence" on a 1 or even 2-3 hour flight. And I can't remember the last time I had an AS flight that wasn't according to the GAs "full so we will have to gate check 15-20 bags" only to depart with a bunch of empty bin space.

This is not to say that AS is horrible or anything, but more that its my acceptance that AS is now JAA (just another airline). It was nice to book on AS and get full miles and it was cheaper than booking on porter directly.

There was an Alaska Airlines Frequent Flyer meeting at Beartooth Theatre Pub in Anchorage last night. On the Invite there was the ability to ask questions. The answer to one of the questions (#2) was very interesting
Questions:

Q: When will the re-fit of the F cabin (12 vs 16) be complete
A: They are most complete now. There will be a few planes not completed until the fall.

Q: Will the Atmos reward program be adding more loyalty programs? A: We intend to launch chose how you earn in the first quarter of 2027.
A: We aren't adding more programs, per se, but are expanding the concept of Atmos Communities - similar to Club 49 - that offer additional benefits to members who join one of our geographic or interest based groups.

Q: Will there be new Atmos partner programs added for miles transfer in the future.
A: Summit cardholders enjoy transfers to 5 hotel partners (IHG, Shangrila, Marriott, Wyndham, Preferred Hotels) as a benefit of the card. We are always evaluating new partnership opportunities and hope to introduce more transfer partners in the future.

Q: Are there any new international or domestic direct flights coming out of Anchorage?
A: This summer we will be adding seasonal service from Anchorage to Boise and Spokane (2x/week), and Boston (1x/week), expanding frequency in markets including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Sacramento, and up gauging Fairbanks to Portland to 737 aircraft. We continue to explore future growth opportunities to offer our guests more choices.

Thank you for flying with us.

Marilyn R
Regional VP – Alaska
Alaska Airlines

I like the answer to the second question.

I was just checking the flight/seats the other day and it said I could upgrade to First for $11 pp. Well, sure, why not? What I didn't realize was that they were going to refund me the $22 I had already paid for Premium (I thought it would be $22 plus $11 for $33 total), so I ended up with just an $11 upgrade from coach to First. And I doubt Amex is going to claw back the credit after several months. All I'm getting is a bigger seat, no food or anything on such a short flight, but what a bargain?

Is it no longer possible to change flights online to dates more than 3 months out?
Is this a website bug, or am I doing something wrong?
Or do I have to call customer service to change to dates beyond 3 months?

Hello all - I'll be traveling on Alaska Air tomorrow ... MCO-SEA-YVR

My flight from MCO leaves at 9:03 AM, but according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/ai...Guides-orlando

Ticket counter hours
Terminal B, level 3

Daily:
4:30 am–6:20 am; 1:30 pm–7:20 pm

The boarding door closes 15 minutes prior to departure.

The baggage service office is only open for aircraft arrivals.

Checked baggage will be accepted during ticket counter hours only — and no more than 4 hours prior to flight departure.

I assume that this must be a mistake? There's no way they really expect me to be at the airport checking my bag at 6:20AM for a 9:03AM flight, right? I'm currently planning on arriving to the airport around 7:30 - which is what I'd normally do when I'm flying on any other airline [ 90 minutes prior to departure ].

I've checked other airports in florida, which also seem to have equally wonky timings, considering the schedule of their flights from these airports:
https://www.alaskaair.com/content/airports

I am a newb when it comes to airline status. Last year I fell into Alaska Gold because of their generous program of awarding EQMs for award flights.

Became Gold at the start of this year and spent quite sometime reading and understanding the benefits of Atmos Gold/OW Sapphire.

Recently flew Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong and stood in line for over an hour at the economy check-in counter to clear my kids passport paperwork. Only after 45 minutes in that line did I realize OW Sapphire gets access to the Business Class check-in, which was empty for a majority of that 1 hr wait.

I'me sure I am going to miss out on some other benefits, so I am curious what it was like when you first got status? Was it as cracked up as you thought it would be? DId you forget some of the benefits like I did?
