			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I had a last minute trip yesterday. So I booked at a location I’ve used for years who treats me great.  Unfortunately the guy working on a Sunday did not know me and let’s say he gave me the biggest pos possible. A 2024 dodge hornet with 60k. Thing was nasty.  He told me all the other cars on the lot were recalled.  Really?!?? Car was a pos. Shaking etc but I was in a rush to get to an airport 2.5 hours away and barely make a important flight.  30 mins down the road the front tire blows out.  It was a fairly dangerous situation. I managed to put the car on some tall brush as there was nowhere safe to pull over.  At one point a firetruck blocked traffic for me causing a major traffic jam and later on CHP blocked traffic and I moved the car to a closed lane on the left of the highway. 2 hours till the tow came. Took me to the nearest airport.  I missed my flight and Avis covered an uber home and no charged the rental.  So things happen.  I’m not mad. But looking at the tire it was bald and in horrible shape. This was an accident waiting to happen.  I know the owner of the branch and I really like the branch. I’d say he had no idea and staff didn’t pay attention. Nonetheless this situation was very dangerous and made me miss an important job. What should I do ok this situation. I’m assuming Avis will offer me a free day or some garbage.  This was pure negligence. How to handle it. <br />

I made the rez through Autoslash with Priceline, but have an Avis confirmation number and can see the rez on the Avis website and app.  I rented a premium vehicle (a BMW 3 series &quot;or similar&quot;) for six days and am Presidents Circle with Avis.<br />
<br />
First, Autoslash/Priceline and Avis both show my reservation cost in US dollars.  In the Priceline rez it reads, &quot;This itinerary including summary of charges is your official receipt.  Prices are in USD.&quot;  Is there anything I need to do to avoid dynamic conversion charges?  <br />
<br />
Second, out of idle curiousity, today I did a dummy booking with both Autoslash and with Avis for the same dates, and neither showed any Premium class vehicles available.  What should I expect?  Does Presidents Circle help me out with a potential upgrade to Elite or Luxury?  I can dream, right?</div>

just had the strangest conversation with Avis. I rent avis, budget, enterprise and alamo on the Costco travel website.  My flight was delayed three weeks ago due to a mechanical issue, causing me to miss my connecting flight.  I got on a later flight and instead of renting my car for 10 days and 23 hours, I rented it for 10 days and 20.6 hours.   After I returned the car, I saw the email that the $226 extra.  I called customer service and was told that they charged me was for a late pick-up fee which I had never heard of.   After 22 minutes on hold, I was told that because I picked the car up 2.3 hours late, i no longer qualified for “the discount” and that was the reason that i was charged the extra $226, an extra 24.4% on my original bill of $926.  <br />
<br />
I cannot change a reservation when renting through Costco Travel.  You can only cancel it.   My experience trying to call an airport rental car counter is that I almost always get the national reservation line, or they just don’t answer at the airport.  I know Avis doesn’t care about the small amount of money I spend on rental cars annually (12k-15k), but I would think that they would want to keep a good customer instead of alienating one.<br />
<br />
And no, I was so upset at the different excuses for overcharging me that I did not ask for a supervisor.</div>

Here’s what I’ve already tried: Used multiple cards (Visa &amp; Mastercard) Ensured sufficient balance/limit Tried different browsers and devices Cleared cache/cookies Attempted both desktop and mobile The cards work fine on other websites, so it doesn’t seem like a bank issue. Has anyone else faced this with Avis recently? Could it be a regional/payment gateway issue or something specific to their system? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!</div>
