I guess I was actually surprised this wasn’t already in the T&Cs, and I’m sure Amex is only adding this so they can reserve their right to selectively enforce in unusual situations.

Any speculation on what’s being targeted here? Buying groups?

I have the platinum card and cant justify the annual fee. I have a large amount of rewards points. I know I can downgrade to gold or green and keep my credit history, card number and points, but why wouldn't I just apply for the gold or green or blue or the business gold or green or blue and get the sign up bonus too? If you can only have the card 1 time with amex, if I downgrade aren't I losing out on that SUB opportunity?

Curious if any Canadian Amex Membership Rewards folks have run into this…

Has anyone successfully linked the same Hilton Honors account to multiple Amex cards?

I tried setting this up and kept hitting an error. I reached out to Amex support via chat, and they told me you can only link a Hilton account to a single Membership Rewards card.

That surprised me a bit, since I’ve been able to link other partners (like Air Canada Aeroplan, etc.) across multiple cards without any issues.

Just wondering if this is actually a Hilton-specific limitation in Canada, or if anyone has managed to get around it.

Appreciate any data points before I go down another support rabbit hole.

I definitely trust us here at FT much more than 98% of bloggers, particularly a blogger with a documented history of shilling for MANY credit cards, some of which are undoubtedly much better for his bottom line (approval “commissions” and advertising fees) than our credit card perks and benefits.

Anyone here see this (link) or a similar offer? Thoughts?

(200,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after $59,000 spend, earn this bonus up to 3 times, $5,000 or more per transaction earns 2 points per dollar. That’s $59,000 spend x 3 x 2 points per dollar, or 354,000 points for spending $177,000 on the card by July 19, plus 600,000 bonus points – or a total of 954,000 points.)

Hi folks,
Coming up to the one year anniversary and am looking to redeem reward 45k points before cancelling. I mostly fly BA/Oneworld but sometimes KLM short haul Europe via AMS from ABZ.
Any tips on how to redeem 45k reward points? I already have about 200k Avios and 100k Flying Blue points. I keep hearing Avios are being devalued with dynamic pricing - is this likely to get worse? I do sometimes make last minute reward bookings to avoid high last minute fares. I did a quick check and it looks like I would get more bang for my points by spending the max avios/minimum cash with BA reward flights over any of the gift card redemptions like Amazon.

Any tips or help would be appreciated otherwise I may just add to my existing Avios and FB points.

Thanks
