If I change to an earlier train on the day of travel, will I be required to pay an upfare the ticket to the current fare?

The current flex fares for the 3pm and 5pm trains are higher than the 6pm departure. Thanks

Lo and behold, I discovered that the transaction view no longer even shows your ticket number (the dollar amount disappeared years ago).

I presume this isn't a me thing and everyone else is seeing this too? I wrote in to customer service and they told me to contact them by phone. No idea why, it's not like you can send screenshots over the phone?

I checked with the forum moderator a while ago about this. I looked and the last thread for Scranton was back in 2011 (https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amtrak-guest-rewards/1228165-train-service-scranton-pa.html)

I looked and the last thread for Scranton was back in 2011 (https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amtr...ranton-pa.html)

I grew up in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, and both heard stories about past service (to both Philly and NYC) and also heard stories about potential returning service as long as I can remember. There is still no guarantee it will work this time, but it does seem to have gotten further than ever before.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that the department is advancing the transformative Scranton to New York Penn Station (NYP) Passenger Rail Corridor project and will host an online public meeting to engage the public in the process. This progress continues after receiving federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investments to expand passenger rail across Pennsylvania, and the project remains one of just five in the nation to reach the Step 2 milestone.

WVIA story about the route (this is the local PBS station in Scranton:

There is some existing service in the area, more of a novelty for tourists, and the trains move extremely slowly (my sister just took the train between White Haven and Jim Thorpe this past weekend and said they could have driven it much faster). Here is that route map:
