Issues with MyTrip.

I've been using 3rd party agencies for flights constantly for well over a decade now and the problems have been minimal (and can count these on one hand) but this is really, really bothering me with MyTrip.

About 6-months ago I booked a Canada, Mexico, South America and Jamaica trip with various different airlines.

Part of the trip was Rio De Janeiro to Santa Cruz, Bolivia with an overnight layover in Belo Horizonte.

I booked my hotel in Belo for the night - non-refundable (only noticed that now).

The original flight from Rio to Belo got cancelled (which isn't a big issue in itself) but the other two flights that day is one that leaves Rio at 8.30am and another that leaves Rio 22.45pm (and gets into Belo at 23.50).

My flight to Santa Cruz leaves Belo at 6am so without even asking me which of the two flights I'd prefer, they automatically put me on the one that gets into Belo at 23.50 meaning I can't do the things I had planned in Belo Horizonte that day/night, a hotel I can't use or get refunded for, a 6-hour layover at the Airport because I'll have no time to get into Belo back out again and nothing will be open and worst of all zero sleep.

I contacted them stating all this and they said they can change me to the 8.30am flight but it will cost an extra fee, which I reluctantly paid (and they sent me a payment receipt and a confirmation of the flight change to the 8.30am flight on the email).

Except, when I log onto the airlines website nothing has changed. I'm still showing as the 22.45pm flight that's no good to me.

I spoke to MyTrip agents every day almost for the past 2-weeks who have been telling me they are waiting on the Airline confirming it just to be patient etc.

I spoke to the Airline who told me MyTrip haven't been in contact at all and that they can move me onto this flight no problem but it has to be the agency that gets in touch to do it. The flight is ready to be changed over, they just need to reach out.

I woke up to an email from MyTrip today saying that flight isn't available anymore and I'm stuck with that later flight that I never asked for, was consulted on or consented to.

I got back in touch with the Airline who told me that flight is still available (I even done a mock booking for it on their website and it's available) and they still haven't heard from MyTrip.

Got back in touch with MyTrip tonight and spent an hour going back around in circles. Explaining it was like trying to explain a card trick to a Chicken.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? please spare me the lectures about never using 3rd Parties etc. I get it. I will still use them where I see good value (and knowing that there's a risk of there being a problem and issues like this cropping up), just won't use MyTrip again - I'm just curious specifically if anyone has had an issue like this with them where they are blatantly lying and not wanting to help.

I use google flights (and sometimes Matrix ITA) to search for flights. I am a basic user and am not familiar with advanced search techniques and tricks.

I'd like to book a one-way ticket CUS-SFO with a forced overnight (<24 hours) stopover in LIM, staying at a hotel in downtown Lima and leaving the next day (late morning or early afternoon) for SFO. For LIM-SFO, I prefer via LAX, which is quicker, or any other similar one stop routings would be OK.

Is there a way for me to do this using Google Flights or Matrix ITA? If not, I'll just book this as 2 separate tickets. Thanks.
