They exist. My impression, is the price you would need charge to make giving away anything (extremely) useful is way too high.

IMHO, the lack of being able to monetise many of the travel/airline tips/tricks bores me. My desire to spend the entire year continuously flying is nonexistent.

The FTU and other events garner quite a bit of cash selling such 'secrets' though... Alexander König sells a newsletter which has a weekly/monthly digest of the buzz with step by step instructions for 100€/yr. It includes an email that highlights any breaking news. Selling such info does have its problems though: when he told folks about a fuel dump you could book without taking the first leg (booked on an obscure airline) he had 20-30 people stranded in Paris trying to board an AF flight... ��

A similar sounding concept to this "Travel Hacking Cartel" that I remember came up a few times here on FT - I think the owner was on here promoting it: travelhacking.org (I'm dumb when it comes to the web but how does a for-profit venture get a ".org" domain name??)

Currently it appears they have a 14 day trial membership for $1. Regular membership has three levels and is anywhere from $150 to $468 depending on the level and whether one pays month-by-month or annually.

(Note - mentioning this in the context of the discussion about monetization of tips/tricks - I have no idea if "travelhacking.org" has any "real tricks" or indeed whether it has any value at all!)

Same way it gets a .com or a .net or any of most other TLDs: pay cash. Most TLDs are not restricted to specific groups or industries; it is just recommended. Some (.edu, .travel, etc) have rules but even within those the level of enforcement can vary.
No and no. It is mostly about CC sign-ups. So you pay to receive emails with CC links in them.

Well, there is a Vegas-Internet-Mafia, which is far more interesting than most of the "Travel Hacking" that is see. But, I love Vegas scoop.

Problem? Only for "silly" people. Buyer beware. Hence, the overall problem when "hacking" goes mainstream. You get some people who have no idea about the potential risks.

If a deal is too good to be true, and you don't understand the risks; you set yourself up for "good times."

Do you mean the VIMF Vegas Tripping website? I am always keen to know of people's recommendations for Vegas sites and tell it like it is and are not trying to sell me something too overtly.
