. But given there are now way more than merely 6 billion people and the population is still rising, it seems like more internet stories about life with small kids are needed to make that form of birth control more effective.

How long until you're compelled by the other parent to do family trips using tourist package charter flights? 
Screaming kids, fighting kids, and accidental/uncontrolled knocks may have more of a home on those flights than on Star Alliance carrier flights.

Keep in mind that MGM Resorts wants to gradually transition mLife into more of a true rewards program (first evidence is the branded credit card).
It could be as simple as someone at mLife identified certain bloggers as being potentially very helpful in the plans, and extended "professional courtesies".
