I used to subscribe to their RSS feed but in the last few months I find that maybe 1 in every 20-30 or so articles is maybe (at best) worth a read, so don't bother anymore. There's very few authors there that are worth reading and even their content has either been sporadic lately or been on topics that are just a waste of words.

Way back when the blog first started (when it was still actually a blog, for that matter) and it was just Brian, he actually had some decent content. I recall a writeup on BA Executive Club that was decent enough I actually shared it with a friend who was just getting started in this stuff. But it didn't take long for the fluff-to-useful ratio to quickly change for the worse...then the commercialism became more prominent...and so on, until we get today's shill of a site.

Imagine leaving the Associated Press for this and claiming it's your dream job.

I wish FlyerTalk supported emojis. Because my only response to this would be the trash can emoji.

How can TPG talk about Marriott's category changes for 2019 in multiple posts without actually providing a link to see the full list of hotels that will change in category ??

Their handlers at Marriott probably wouldn't let them.

Speaking of which....next time you see TPG talking about Marriott, keep this insta post in mind:

Was that invite a reward for killing Richard Kerr's 'Marriott is out to lunch' post?

Not sure what that ridiculous and ill-fitting dinner jacket is suppose to represent.

At what point does a site become a blog vs a news outlet? Although, a good chunk of TPG's posts are just reposts from news sites so I guess that's that one answered.

it's "Content Marketing" not news, nor travel advice. Clearly, Marriott is a sponsor.

Through deeply integrated brand partnerships and consumer-facing assets, Red Ventures connects online customers with products and services across high-growth industries including home services, financial services, and healthcare
Brian is just a consumer facing asset connecting online customers with Marriott... Let the man do his job...
