He even hat tipped FlyerTalk.
In the past, weekend 'great deals' lingered.
Correlation =/= causation, but this thing was fixed within a couple hours of Gary posting it.
I wonder if he himself booked his flights before he posted it? That would be very telling.
I wonder if Ben was allowed to book these?

Perhaps not the original publisher, but uploading a blog post definitely means he published it. But don't want to drag down into a semantics argument!

He certainly pretended like he found it. It would be nice if he had at least said in his opening line that he was lifting it from FT instead of a tiny mention at the end of post.
It kind of feels like to me that he's pretending to be the expert in this case.

AFAIK Ben has moved on to AA after lifetime 1M on UA.
AND, as anyoen knows, there is no point in being even LT 4M on DL
However agree with you that giving credit at the end is sneaky, unlike his giving credit to MP at the beginning.

Yes - it helped kill the deal
So one of the people on facebook posted on Gary Leff's VFTW page the following less than two hours ago - "You are truly the flight genius! Just what I needed."
This shows that folks do not realize that it was not his deal.

You realize that it was posted on TFD well before Gary had it, right?
And that, based on the timing of the fix, that UA may have known about it since before anyone (other than their RM folks) published it??

Why can't Ben book these fares?

When you blog about fares, you are the expert.

The deal must have been around since May 14. Knowing the folks at COdbaUA I know they know how to read various things. By the time it reached the blogs the other shoe was about to drop

Someone else 'doing it first' is no excuse. Between his blog and that pushing to Facebook and Twitter I'd say he had a big, big hand in the deal getting killed.
What happened to the unofficial policy of blogging and related discussion after the deal is dead?
