I don't think Ben ever tried to give the illusion that he supports his entire life on miles. It's just the opposite, he changes his entire life to acquire miles. He claims that he is still living out of hotels to earn points. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but he usually details how he redeemed his miles in the intro of his multi post trip reports? I think we all know now that a majority of his flights are funded through miles that he purchased when they were on sale. You might have to point me to a few articles that show he no longer discloses how he books his trips.

I think Adam's argument is not just how wasteful Ben was, but that he was taking advantage of poorly paid crew. Making them "jump through hoops" for the sole purpose of his amusement. There are valid criticisms of Ben, but these seem to be the most far fetched.

I am going to earn 39 United miles today eating lunch at a Rewards Dining participating restaurant! Another couple of thousand visits to participating restaurants and maybe I can fly like him, thanks Ben!

Thanks for asking what I meant. The "argument" was that I found it in poor taste to post a blog post gloating about making service employees go out of their way to get you things if you don't intend to use those things, just because you can.

You speak of my motivation or goal of which you know nothing about. Let's let leave at that.

I wasn't even thinking of your motivations or goals when I posted that quote, so how could I be speaking of your motivation or goal when I wasn't speaking about that? Go figure, but it was about the idea of something that goes beyond just one quote I included in my post.

wow, those videos are simply terrible.
Clearly aiming at a very specific audience,
which I'm proud not to be part of. Never again.

Sorry, didn't mean to be that dismissive. I guess it's hard for me to write off his actions when it's an overall pattern. I get that it was a review of what you can get away with in the residence (which should be a lot, you're spending a ton of money!), but in the entirety of the residence trip it came off as flippant to just off-handedly discard the various items, in my opinion.

Apparently flying the residence is the 2017 Vendoming experience for bloggers:

Adam and iadisgreat will probably like this guy as he brings his own coffee cup from home. Very low on waste...

Why would I like him? Not sure what point you're trying to make, but my comment in the latest part of the thread is about the disregard for things one requests for themselves.

That video is really well done. Better than anything I've seen from the usual suspects. ^

100x better than Lucky's Bravo series, which (sadly) we can assume was filmed by a professional.

Props to the guy in that video for wearing a suit and for his beard/accent. Lucky always looks and sounds quite frumpy—I'm sure his stay in the Residence was no exception!

Are you trying to say that Ben's hoodie from Kohl's is not proper attire for the Residence?
