He probably pointed out that Skypesos are not worth 2 cpm despite whatever DP thinks.

This entire post is fear-mongering FUD.

There is absolutely no evidence that any of these fares were "unpublished." Rather there is plenty of evidence that the fares were published, mostly in that they were visible in public GDS systems and bookable across multiple OTAs.

You can believe the rants or pay attention to reality. I strongly recommend the latter, and you're not going to find that here.

And, according to a follow-up email, apparently he's been blocking me for a while now. I rarely care as I don't often follow-up on the comments once I point out that the post is, essentially, based on bad info. And clearly I hadn't noticed until now.

For awhile last night, that DP post was in the large top-left "frame" of the BA main page. Are the posts for that spot rotated randomly or based on something (amt of clicks?). BA should be embarrassed, that post was one of the more far-out, patently incorrect I've seen on there lately.

well kudos at least trying to correct the mis-information.

clearly the blog doesn't really care though if the readers get the correct information or not, just as long as there's a CC link at the end of the post

That spot is "held" by the most recent post written by one of the "featured bloggers" group. The three below it are the next three from that group, also chronologically. The two columns below that are filled in chronological order by all bloggers, not just the "featured" group.

The current pool of featured bloggers is:
  • Maltapoints
  • Fly and Dine
  • Point Me to the Plane
  • Hack My Trip
  • Extra Pack of Peanuts
  • The Skeptical Traveler
  • Frequent Miler
  • Delta Points
  • Points, Miles & Martinis
  • Mommy Points
  • Marshall Jackson on Travel
  • The Wandering Aramean
  • Road Warriorette
  • Frequently Flying
  • Deals We Like
  • Flying With Fish
  • Loyalty Traveler
  • One Mile At A Time
  • View from the Wing

The list does change from time to time but is mostly static.

It really is sad that clueless blogs like DP are "featured" while other bloggers don't get the same billing. For a while there even FM was trumped.

You guys should vote with your eyes and mind and just stop reading... I gave up on BA long ago and now sub to a very small number of their blogs through feedly. And I am surprised that some - contributing here ;) - continue to post there. I don't think I'd want to be associated with most of the other bloggers there.

In fact some of the BA blogs not mentioned by smb12 do get 'featured' status for about 2 weeks per year. My slot is coming up soon.

Excuse me, this may be a dumb question that may have been answered earlier or elsewhere. What does it take to be in the "featured blogger" area of BA? Obviously, moderation practices is not one of the criteria :D

By the way, I had a fantastic time at the buffet line this morning at the Hyatt property in Thessaloniki, Greece. I think I am all set for food for the rest of the day!

I was "invited" by BA management. AFAIK that's the criteria, similar to how one gets in to BA in general.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a cluster benefit for all the BA bloggers -- including even the better ones -- by being associated in this way and more easily accessible/discovered.

I think that Randy Petersen (or whoever set up BA) played that very well, and I appreciate the concentration as a user.

I hear you. Personally I read all blogs through feedly and so filter out the crap from boardingarea, first2board etc that i do not want to read.

i track some bad ones for comedic purposes, but some get so nauseating you have to turn off the tap
