I'l likely fly on BR 17 or BR 27 which take off around 1AM. Any lounges with a shower available as SQ*G?

You will have access to any of the United regular lounges which the latest one closes at midnight but as far as I know those do not offer showers. The Polaris lounge does offer showers but it is only available if traveling on business class and also closes at 10:30PM (head to the United forum and you'll see most people start getting kicked out around 9:30)

If you have one of the Amex cards, centurion lounge will offer showers and is open until 11PM.

I saw an EVA flight parked at the A terminal tonight and I know they end up moving them to G for departures. However, a quick search shows that recently BR17 has been departing from A gates . Is this a recent change? And if so what lounge is being used?

I just saw on the BR website that its listing BA, AF and Golden Gate lounges for Biz passengers all at the A gates. The Polaris lounge is not on the list. I wonder if EVA is permanently moving to the A gates for all SFO flights? And can BR passengers still access Polaris?

This kinda sucks because I have an upcoming flight in December and I was really looking forward to experiencing the Polaris lounge for the first time.

the Polaris lounge isn't great. Food is barely edible, overcrowded and closes way before the EVA flight leaves.
the UA lounge that is open later is about a 15 minute walk. Given a$30 voucher good at 2 restaurants. Doesn't go far
this was as of two weeks ago

I'm assuming they don't list the Polaris lounge because I guess their primary terminal is A? According to United, BR J-class passengers should still get access to the Polaris lounge since it's a long-haul intl flight on *A... just that you'd have to go through security twice if your flight is out of terminal A. Anyway, I'm about to do that on my upcoming BR7 flight so we'll see how that goes.

My flight 2 weeks ago left from A (as did my flight 6 months ago) If they are switching to G that would be different. so no 2x security as of my recent experience
edit - correction - I had A and G backwards - Polaris is in G wing as are the departing EVA flights Sorry.

BR27 on Sept 14 departed from G8. There was another BR flight taking off a few minutes earlier from G9. The UA lounge closed at like 10:30 PM or some such and so we were given $30 meal vouchers for Tomokazu and Napa Farm Market.

Yes, sorry I had it backwards and it is G gates not A. The Polaris and UA lounge close at 10:30, but Polaris closes restaurant dining at 9 or 9:30 and closes their bar at 9:30 - and they aren't friendly. There is another UA lounge that quite a walk and not worth it IMO that closes at midnight.
Yes they give $30 voucher for business class passengers - it doesn't go far at either place (although the food is a step up from most lounge food esp. the Japanese, but at high prices). Also have to hunt for comfortable and uncrowded areas to sit for the 2 hours or so before flight

i guess not entirely related to the original post about the midnight flights but I will say for anyone looking at this thread flying on BR7 that, yeah you can still go to the Polaris lounge in G but you will get funny looks from security/lounge desk since you're entering the wrong terminal obviously. But the walk from Terminal G to A is like 3-4 minutes anyway.

nice part is that if BR7 flies out of gate A5 specifically i think, you board from the lounge

I guess sometime in 2024, Terminal 1 and 2 will be connected on the airside so one can go between A and G without going through security. It is a big circle but it will be doable.

I think at that point it'd still be faster to just go through security again haha. I guess when I did this, there was no line at G and a small line at A so that probably skewed my perception. But I suppose that's good news for people who just want to avoid going through security twice at all costs.

Does anyone have a link to EVA Air lounge access policy for guest?

My gf and I are both Star Alliance Gold (from UA) and are traveling business class SFO-TPE on EVA. I just found out we have friends on the same flight traveling in Economy class, will I be able to get them in the lounge? I probably know not the Polaris but whatever lounge EVA is using in Terminal A?

They follow *A policy so you can each have a guest. https://www.staralliance.com/en/lounge-access-policy
Not sure about the Terminal A lounges as they aren't *A affiliated lounges but certainly the United Club.
