Extending EVA miles validity
 

Hi All,

I'm an EVA novice, I've flown with them a couple of times and really like them.

I've got about 25000 miles that start expiring in August 2021 and I have no travel plans. Is there anyway that I can extend the validity please?

Call and ask?

They extended it once in December for a year, but they don't seem to take much action until the last minute.

Given the current condition of Taiwan's strict entry restriction+quarantine, in August it'll be only few travel bubble that's being realised, so I guess they will extend it, but it's a game of wait and see since airlines tend to do last minute decision on this.

I had 3 award tickets cancelled this year that was redeemed using miles that were expired in June 2020 (They extended from Feb 2020). Currently they extend the validity of the 3 flights ticket till Dec 2021 (flight date) which I must ticket by June 2021.

Problem is flight schedules are only generated 2 months ahead. Will call in June 2021 to rebook those 3 flights, guess we'll see what happens then. Not that I want to fly during this pandemic but the miles were expiring...
