EVA Air receives their first 787-10

https://simpleflying.com/eva-air-787-10/

Didn't really see coverage of this anywhere else, but thoughts?

Here are the routes for the new aircraft, according to website Routes Online. All flights below will depart from Taipei Taoyuan:
  • Hangzhou from 5th July, twice weekly (three times a week from 18th July)
  • Hong Kong from 28th June once a day (frequency varies from 2nd July)
  • Macau one flight on 26th July
  • Osaka Kansai from 12th July, eight times a week
  • Shenzhen from 15th July once a week (operating for UNI Air)
  • Tokyo Narita from 29th July once a day

Press release, inaugural flight and ceremony were all cancelled due to strike.

I don't see EVA promoting this and if there is any flight to be scheduled with 787-10, it may be delayed.

That explains why nothing came up on the EVA Air Newsroom, thanks! Unfortunately I had to resort to blogspam.

Assuming the routes are flown as scheduled (or best case scenario the routes are pushed back with equal offset and flown as they are), any thoughts to why the other cities are flown until TPE-NRT's daily flight?

Or, due to my unfamiliarity with BR scheduling, is the TPE-NRT route not even the permanent home of this 78J and that's subject to change based on demand? I'm guessing it's to do some test/familiarity runs with the new plane (especially the new seats)

For new aircraft you need more hours and legs on the routes so Tokyo is not the best option cause the amount of turns you can do is significantly less on training.

787-10 is there to replace regional 333 and 332 routes. It will also be used to up-gauge some 321 flights.

I would say Tokyo will have 78J available on 1 or 2 flights, but the usage will likely be EQV.

The original first flight for this 787-10 is scheduled on 26 Jun from Taipei to Hong Kong. But it has been postponed with no further details due to the strikes.

Does 78X replace A321 or A333 on the KIX route?

It seems like the 787-10 is still going to make its maiden commercial flight on 6/28 BR871.

If it was BR871 only it seems you were right.

Aircraft has a lot of closets/galley space and no crew rest. Total crew will be 14 FAs. Row 1 will be reserved for crew rest, and row 58 as well.

Flew this yesterday NRT-TPE.

Crew member said there is a crew rest in the back, although on such a short flight I'm not sure if anyone used it or confirmed its existence.

Comfy business class seats, nice stable flight, large low-resolution monitors. Lots of kids in business class.

Really nice Chinese / Japanese / Western food options on the menu, or at least they looked nice.
I had a horrible VLML (ovo-lacto vegetarian meal) ... same frozen chickpea mush that NRT catering has been serving up for the last 6+ years, weird vegan bread and not-butter, no care and consideration whatsoever.
But anyway.
