Eva Air Builds New North America Offices

BR began construction of a new office park in El Segundo in Nov. 2018 for their North American HQ. They will double the space they currently use at Pacific Towers (20,000 sq ft) and lease the remaining area out. The extra space will allow for greater localization of operations, thereby providing better service to the North American market. The new campus is called Alta, and will be managed by Eva Airways North America. The new development will cost them an estimated 1.7 billion dollars.

Eva Air is also expanding and upgrading its flight training campus in Mather, CA, outside of Sacramento. There, it is in the process of building a new cafeteria, living space, hangars, and other related buildings. They are slated to cost 20 million.

What? No boxy green buildings?

I saw your posting in the other thread. I really wonder how independent the North American operations can be. I can see maybe airport operations, FFP (especially partnerships) and Marketing but even Inventory Management/RM/YM, pricing have to be network-wide, right? Then of course Management rotates in and out of TPE, right?

They are actually pretty coordinated with TPE (surprising!). Mgmt. do quite a few runs to TPE every month and the same from TPE to LAX (also a ton of conference calls and video calls). The RM team there is mainly responsible for helping to manage inventory for TA's and processing all upgrades out of the region but they coordinate with the main team in TPE. Pricing remains the responsibility of TPE.

My bad! It's NTD 1.7 Billion. It is only ~50 million USD for the building. The price of the plot of land and architect fees are unknown as they did not break the threshold for major expenditure reporting.

I agree. The website is extremely lackluster compared to competitor CI and others. The app also needs work, one of the worst ones out there.
