This has been my experience too. About 8 am, prior to UA872 TPE-SFO, I went to the Eva Star Lounge, couldn't find a place to sit, so crossed over to the SQ Lounge, where there were lots of empty seats. Next time I will just go to the SQ Lounge directly.

I’m sitting in the Star lounge with my wife right now. Flying RL as *G but the Infinity lounge was packed. Not a seat to be had. This lounge now feels like we are sitting in the main terminal - consider me spoiled. Hardly feeling like a valued customer. Even the shared lounge at SGN was superior to this. The only saving grace is the ice cream. First world problems, I know.

Yes, the SQ lounge has showers (I think 2?).
The government is working hard on reducing crowding at TPE and has been successful with a big reduction of Mainland China tourists. T3 is nowhere in sight.
It was sad to find the SQ lounge changed the cookies they served. I used to love these cookies they had. The new ones are not so good.

Edit: Found a Prince of Travel link, doesn't look like it has
Edit2: Found another link that has a nice picture of the shower with enclosed toilet

The SQ lounge showers are, in my opinion from personal observation, not kept clean and tidy like the BR showers and are nowhere near the cleanliness of the NH lounge showers at TYO airports. Unless time is really tight, I would stick to the BR showers. The last time I was in there, just to use the toilet, they were really filthy with hair all over the floor, almost as bad as the old transit hotel at TPE that was demolished way back to open the PP lounge.

Definitely prefer the SQ lounge over the noisy, crowded EVA lounge with its terrible food. (One day I was there all but one of the ice cream buckets were the same, as they apparently couldn't be bothered having varieties.)

I've never had this issue. Immaculate when I turned up before 6am. As a small lounge with few staff, I'll guess that they may deteriorate over the day on busy days.

I talked to a ground staff about the crowding issue in the lounge, and the ground staff was very apologetic but it seems like BR has no plan for expansion in TPE (at this the staff I talked to never hear anything about it), so the lounge crowding issue will for sure continue for quite a while. Oh well..
