Post I class on SFO to TPE

I am considering flying to TPE for my Christmas (I know it is really late). It would be perfect for flying BR7/17/27 but it seems like there is no I class (award business) available around Dec. 15th. I checked and saw that there are still plenty of J classes (business). I am quite new to star alliance and I am wondering whether they will normally release more award tickets. Could someone share some experience on this?

*I am using AV/UA miles if that helps.

For Christmas time, you have to be very flexible. Also EVA these days does not release SFO-TPE I class award seats until a few days before departure. You can check October award availability and see for yourself.

YVR or SEA could have more I award seats way ahead of departure date.

They do.

Last week, BR released more I space to United at T-72,-48,-24. I was able to clear outbound on BR27 using I class on 10/1 the day before. Usually happens around 3am each morning. Just check daily.

Christmas out of SFO is very busy, especially RL. In addition to the business traffic finishing up, lots of families that want to go home also book RL.

If there are spaces available BR will release more seats as time gets
closer to departure. Usually starts from T-72
