2x TPE-JFK-TPE down to 1?
Hello all - my daytime JFK-TPE disappeared (for November travel), and searching months backwards, it seems that it is around in Feb but disappears at some point before the summer...any insight into this? Thanks.

I was booked on BR30 ex-TPE at 8am in October and was changed to BR32. It looks like all BR30 flights have been removed in October.

It's a sad change personally prefer the early arrival to NYC much better, but seems like the yield is not good enough for them to keep.. They move the aircraft to SFO so that it will become 3 daily from July. It also may solve the labour dispute recently concerning the morning SFO flight.

That's true. so maybe not enough pilot? The increase of SFO and reduction of JFK seems to happen at the same time..

It is official:
https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...ges-from-3q18/ Taipei Taoyuan – New York JFK eff 01JUL18 Reduce from 11 to 7 weekly, BR030/029 cancelled Taipei Taoyuan – San Francisco eff 26JUN18 Increase from 18 to 21 weekly, BR008/007 increases from 4 to 7 weekly |
Really sad to see this flight go it was great timing. Yields started out bad but got a lot better lately. It was the best way for me to get home (RDU) from TPE.

Poor yield plus it can be used to resolve the SFO issue, might as well.
Though I do wonder the feasibility of keeping SFO 3 daily with CI and UA in competition still. |

Perhaps BR should move one of the three to SJC when they have 787-10. (Or downgrade some of the 77W flights to 787.)
but I do second the opinion in downgrading one to 787 and send to SJC. |
and move 1 LAX flight to ONT :D

There is no need to worry about SFO. It has a huge amount of corporate and premium travel and BR is making loads off the flights.

Gross revenue or profit? I suspect since they are different things, perhaps that is why they reduced capacity? Perhaps competitive offerings were putting a very strong downward pressure on prices for J/PY and that's why they had to pull out a bit?
SFO has excellent yields, full paid RL cabins, good yields in PE, meh yields in Y, and huge amounts of belly cargo. |
