TPE Transfer TG -> BR, can I meet someone at TG gate?
I haven't flown through TPE in over a decade, so somewhat clueless on transit logistics, and the transit info on the TPE website doesn't really answer my question.
I'm departing on a BR flt TPE to SFO (ie, my trip originates in TPE, no transfer).
I'll be meeting up with my mother in TPE who will be flying in from BKK on TG. She'll be in a wheelchair and I was hoping to meet her at the TG gate when she gets off the plane to accompany her through the transit pocedure.
I'm assuming that they segregate incoming passengers until after security, so I won't be able to get to the gate and will have to meet her after she goes through transit security?
I know that she'll have to go from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, but I'd like to meet up with her at the earliest possible point even if it's somewhere in Terminal 1.
If anyone can provide some info on this, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm not sure if you can actually go to the TG arrival gate because you will be on the departure level but if your mother is transiting to BR, she will be directed towards the transfer desk so you can probably tell her to wait for you there.

I am typing from my memory, so double check
Your BR TPE-SFO will leave from T2 for sure, most likely C/D gates (C5&C8 today)
TG BKK-TPE lands in T1 (e.g. A6 gate), so she has to take the inter-terminal train
Probably easier to ask special assistance for her and simply meet her at your gate
Visit the airport to check inter-Terminal transportation

This should be the way to go. As Jerryhung indicated that there are separation between the arriving and departing passengers; however, you can try to catch up with her at the transfer station of Terminal 1. You definitely should request for a wheelchair escort for her.

After clearing departure immigration, you would head to Terminal 2 concourse. After passing through Duty-free shops, almost at the end, you will find Information Desk on your left. There are escalators behind it going down to arrival hall. You would take that down and tell security that you are going to EVA Transfer Desk, normally they will let you through glass door to the EVA Transfer Desk which is just on the other side of the wall of the transit security area.
You may check with EVA desk for the arrival time / gate for the TG flight, and then walk along the arrival concourse to the TG arrival gate. Its a long walk from gate C5 (Transfer Desk) to A6, however I would not hang around the TG arrival gate too early (empty concourse). You can wait around the Transfer Desk where seats are available, and go to the TG gate 5-10 minutes before arrival.
Note : You need two plugs to single jack adapter (free from UA/CO flights) for your single prong headset.

Thank you all so much for the info. This is extremely helpful. I'll follow asiadxer's instructions to try and get to the hallway by the TG gate. If I can't, I'll try to catch her in the transfer lounge before she gets on the train.
She has a standing request for wheelchair escort, so there should be someone to take her from the TG flight to the BR gate. I just want to get to her as quickly as possible, as she can get a bit flustered in unfamiliar situations (she's used to doing the trip BKK-NRT-SFO on UA).
Got a couple of those adapters in my carry on, so I should be good to go!
Thanks again.
