Glad to see that EVA remains committed to the 3-3-3 configuration in Y.
Quite disappointed with its PE offering tho. The seat resembles CX's product, no leg rest and a tiny cushion that probably won't provide any decent support for sleep.
Thought PE provides reasonably good yields to EVA? sad to see it is positioning it as a Y- product.

I'm happy to pay a premium to fly QF and NZ in PE, but I refuse to fly CX in PE. EVA's PE class leaves very little to be desired.

Any thoughts?

yikes. based on the photos the pajamas are only red or pink. i hope they can come up with a guy version (maybe in green?)

As long as there is no green hat - for guys, that means wife is cheating on you :D

I like the new fabrics on Elite, Economy though the current one looks better. I'm not sure about the missing legrest in Elite. To be honest I didn't use it so much, largely because unlike the original Economy Deluxe seat, there was no foot step.

Definitely the same PE seats being used by CX (minus the tray under the screen for small items and the USB charging plug). Same drop down foot rests (useless for anyone over about 5'5").

Oh I did not know that in the CX cabin there were foot rests in the other seats. i thought it was only the front row seat that had anything. Thanks for the information.

Now that I think more about it, I do regularly make use of the foot rest in the current Elite. It will be missed.

Anybody have any idea on how I can get the emergency exit seats early? I'm flying from LAX-BKK this June. Thank you

See post #2 in this thread.

Seems like people shy away from row 11 because of the Elite Cabin proximity. Only seats remotely close to each other that I could get are 11 D/G on an upcoming SFO-TPE flight.

Is the Elite Class proximity that annoying? Obviously, it's somewhat dependent on who's on the other side of the bulkhead, but I would think that with the shell design of the RL seat it would buffer some of the noise.

Is there a "hard" separation between RL and Elite cabins or just a flimsy curtain?

Also, looks like the headphone port is three-pronged, would I be able to use my own headphones w/ a one-prong plug?

TIA for any info/input.

I flew TPE-YYZ in RL 11K, it was perfectly fine, no issue (noises) from Elite class paxs, except one grandma walked in and toured the RL cabin and sat down in an empty seat (and left few minutes after)

It was an evening flight though, so most people are sleeping? and luckily no crying babies. I heard more noises from a toddler girl coughing in 10K

It was simply a curtain separation

Forgot about the headphone, but I don't think you'd have issues

On the JFK route, I often sit in Seat 10K and never have a problem in-bound or out-bound. In fact, had a couple, their two yr old son and domestic maid sit in row 9 and they made more noise, LOL.

YMMV

Sounds like something my grandma would have done.

As with most things in life, I guess it depends on the luck of the draw.

Thanks to both of you for the insight.

2 new 77As are delivered. http://evaair.tenten.co/ has additional information (English and Chinese).

This is incorrect information. All 777-300ER's have 8 across seating in all rows of Elite.

It seems this changed at one point. Last season's timetable still showed the first row of elite with 7 seats for 77N (total 63). The current timetable shows 8 in the first row of elite for both 77N and 77A.

Lucky has a blog post on the subject

My question is the updated pyjamas/head phones/Rimowa/Fiji restricted to JFK/77A service or is it being rolled out to all TPAC routes right away ?

No, it is not restricted to 77A - these are general RL improvements. However, it is not clear when it would be rolled out. Knowing how the Taiwanese do things, I think it is sooner rather than later.

Now we wonder who is going to post the first trip report on the 77A on the Internet :D

I really hope when BR gets more deliveries 77W's will go to YVR soon.
