Also, the seats don't have leg rests but have foot rests only instead(except for row 20 which has a leg rest and a bar u can pull out from the leg rest to make it a foot rest). There are no boxes under the seat. Only planes with those are B-16701/B-16702(Both are 77N planes), which serve the VIE route and will be returned to the lessor in July. Also, the IFE is the newer Panasonic EX3 system and the lighting is LED.

If you really want to find out, planes B-16718-B-16729 are 77A planes. You can go on flightradar24.com and check out the past planes that have served BR30/29.
u are correct, my mistake...

Anyone know if any of the armrests in Elite class (premium economy) are moveable?

What are the pros/cons of the front vs. rear RL sections? My understanding is the rear is more intimate, but you also run the risk of econ passengers walking through to use the middle bathroom. Is rear served last for meal service?

If they did walk through, the cabin crew would shoo them back. Everyone gets served at pretty much the same time.

theres a whole thread on it which i find quite interesting. One thing i didnt notice until now is that front cabin's seats are staggered but the back cabin is aligned.

good read --> http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eva-a...ond-cabin.html

Yes, that's because the bathrooms are where the row 7 window seats should be. Normally, other airlines that do staggered seating compensate for this by removing the row 7 middle seats and moving the galleyway forward, allowing the second cabin to be staggered as well.

It indeed is quite unfavorable to sit in the second as the experience quite different than the front.

Just to confirm - I'm flying transpacific on what looks like the new 3-4-3 seating, unfortunately. I'm flying by myself and currently have 49A and 64A. The return had no seats at the window available in the "upper" cabin, hence 64A (only middle seats). Flying without any *A status, that's probably why.

Will those open up at the 24h mark and are currently reserved or just booked full?

I also have a HKG-TPE connecting flight on the 77W for which I was able to select what looks like the Elite Cabin in 2-4-2 seating seat for free - is this normal and I can feel happy about it or was that an error? I'm currently in 25D and the cabin is now fully booked/reserved, I was just happy to see a) a seat selectable for free in that cabin and b) anything aisle or window so I picked it.

BR blocks off an insane amount of seats for some reason. They should open up 24h prior, with the exception of the bulkhead/exit rows.
You are able to select the Elite cabin for HKG-TPE because no PE is sold on the flight so it is used as an additional economy cabin.

The reservation system has gotten better now. Seats blocked off for BR Diamond and Gold are now available for them to select prior to the flight instead of having to get it assigned at the airport.

Note that even doing online check in does not allow you to choose certain blocked row like the emergency exit row and the bulkhead row in Elite. It seems to be a great problem that the people in Elite and Economy have.
I'm thinking about switching to BR55 and there are 11 blocked rows on the flight I'm interested. How does BR handles assigning blocked seats to family? I have part of 4 and I like to seat together. BTW flight appears to open in Y (C9 J9 D9 K9 L9 T9 P9 Y9 B9 M9 H9 Q9 S9 W9 V0) and BR released the award seats to UA recently.

Thanks,

Put in a request for your ticket and specifically state that it is a family that wants to sit together. Blocked rows will appear for selection during OLCI, except for bulkhead/exit rows. They generally will grant requests prior to check-in so check before heading to the airport if you don't do OLCI. If not, at check-in, inquire with them.

Any key differences between BR 11 and 15? Thinking which one to book, since the two are just 30 mins apart. In terms of food, hard/soft products, or even which is more prone to be fully booked, etc.

Also, are both 777s already equipped with the updated products in Royal Laurel class?

No differences between the two other than the timing.

They are not. They are operated by 77M, not 77A. The difference is the location of the bathroom, the Panasonic EX2 IFE, and the IFE controller is the old model.

There is no difference. EVA does not offer any of the "bare bone" tickets. After you book the ticket, go to manage your trip and select your seats there. However, if there are no seats, you will not be able to choose seats until OLCI opens. Do note that EVA likes to block lots of rows of tickets.
