I can't compare to CX but I used the BR wifi in April LAX-TPE and it worked great. I didn't try to stream anything but the web browsing was quick (not lightening fast, but quick).

I don't get a chance to fly business almost ever so I don't know much about it. I need to get to BKK from DFW so I was thinking DFW-ORD-TPE-BKK since availability is great on BR right now (plus I can grab dinner with my folks in Chicago). Is there a difference in the J class on the 777s? If so, how can I make sure I get the right one. This will be June 24, 25, or 26 of 2017.

I'm confused..CX does not currently offer Wifi on NA routes.

In any case, I have my first trip via BR premium econ this week. I'll write a review.

Does YYZ TPE have Wifi? 77A/N or M? Last I flew was a few years ago and it was the 77A which did not have wifi. Hoping that has changed

The only difference in J class is the controller for the IFE and the meal service. One has the digital touch screen, the other has the traditional kind. The meal service on TPE-BKK is their regional product service, which means they give you the food via a tray, instead of setting you table. Since Chicago is a new destination, you will get the plane with WIFI. TPE-BKK is already operated by WIFI equipped aircraft.

Thanks for the explanation.

Eva Air Wifi Review

I took BR05 - LAX - TPE on Sept 23. Paid 21.95 for 24 hours pass.

Wifi satellite access is being provided by t-mobile with the downlink registering somewhere in Alstead Germany.

First 3 hours of the flight, I was able to use email and skype/viber messaging. Tried Remote desktop to a couple of amazon servers and they failed.

Speedtest.net shows between 2 to 3 mbps download, failed upload, 1384ms ping.

Somewhere after 3 hours and 5 hours (took a nap) into the flight and over Hawaii, connection became unavailable and I kept trying to refresh for about an hour before taking my sleep.

5 hours from TPE, wifi was active but it was very spotty with a couple of times losing connection for 20 minutes at a time.

Next time, I will just sign up for 3 hours access and plan on just using the service in the first initial hours of the flight and near the end.

10-abreast starts with B-16730. It already started flying. Maiden flight was to SGN on the 23rd. Typical of EVA to send the new 777s to SGN first. It is currently doing the PEK rotation right now as I post.

Notice of Service Change - Hello Kitty

Hi there,

Upon reading this on EVA Air's website: http://www.evaair.com/en-us/flight-i...t.html?filter=

It seems that the Houston (IAH) Hello Kitty plane will be changed to a normal 777 one starting 30 OCT 2016 to 25 MAR 2017.

I am wondering if the replacement 777 will still be on the "A" config with the new AVOD?

Most likely since they are pretty consistent about how they schedule flights. Since BR215/216 always has the new AVOD, IAH will continue to get the new AVOD.

Anyone have preferences for the 773er RL fore or aft cabin? I'm in 6K but the aft cabin is smaller, sometimes it's quieter and you get more attention in the smaller cabins? I flew the fore cabin last time and it was ok.

Curious to hear opinions?
