I have a flight in March from SFO->TPE and TPE->SFO. I've been reading this thread and have a couple questions:

The OP and a couple of other posts mention the 77A has both USB and power for every seat in economy class (or maybe it was 2 outlets for every 3 seats). What about the 77N and 77M? What connections do they have in economy class?

How do I know if I'm flying a 77N, 77M, or 77A? I'm looking at my confirmation email and it only shows that the aircraft is a Boeing 777-300ER. When I check my flight status on EVA's website, it says "Economy Class/V".

77N and 77A have different seating configurations. 77M is a slightly updated version of the 77N, and you can tell this because it's a 77N that's wifi enabled. One quick way to tell N/A is the bathroom in the J cabin on the right hand side. There's a bathroom on N, but not A. (by row 7)

Right, but is there any way for me know right now which version, 77N, 77A, or 77M, my flight in March will use?

Also do the 77M and 77N have USB and/or AC power in economy class?

The seatguru map doesn't seem to be completely consistent with the information in this thread (hence the discussion). For example, the OP mentions USB/AC power in every economy seat, whereas seatguru does not (which is noted in the OP).

I don't fly Y or PE, sorry. I just look at the seatmap and if there's wifi. Recently I did YYZ TPE on a 77M, and I knew it was a 77M because it was a 77N seatmap with wifi.

Ok, thanks. I just found out that I can't view a seat map and/or choose a seat until 72 hours prior to departure.

Once you can view the seat map / choose seat, you can determine the type of aircraft for your particular flight by looking at the Economy seatmap :
- If the last seat is row 71, its the older 77N
- If the last seat is row 72, its the refurbished 77M
- If the last seat is row 73, its the new 77A
The new 77A aircrafts are being used for LAX, IAH and JFK flights. The 77A has the USB/AC Power access in Economy.

Did anyone know who make EVA 777-300ER's seats? I knew it use to be Koito. I think there were some safety issues of Koito seat. Are they still using the Koito products or some other companies? Do they use the same company for the RL, PE, and economy seats?

Zodiac for J and (I think?) W. And then it's either Zodiac or B/E for Y.

I am travelling long haul soon from TPE to LAX. Can anyone tell me what the temperature is like onboard Eva flights?

SQ and CX have cooler tempratures but I remember the last time I travelled on TG it was very hot inside the cabin.

Can I expect the flight to be more on the warmer than cool side? I am travelling in Elite on both old and new version of the 777.

Recently I have traveled on the 77Ws of SQ, NH, and BR. In terms of coldest, and my preference, SQ > BR > NH. On my recent IAH-TPE-IAH with BR, it was cool enough that I did not drink as much water and comfortable in a light jacket and khakis. I took a IAH-NRT-IAH flight six months prior with NH where I would constantly get up to get drinks and sweat while wearing t-shirt and shorts.

Anyone fly BR17 recently (SFO-TPE)? Have an upcoming trip in March and was wondering if it's with their new 777-300ER fleet (77A) or an older model? I know the new 77A was only for selected routes (e.g. LAX) when it was first announced but I want to say they've expanded the route and included SFO now?

Can't seem to access the seat map at the moment to check the # of rows.

Just curious. Thanks everyone!

TPE - SFO usually served by B-16710, B-16716, B-16708, and B-16711 which are the refurbished 77M

Thanks! That's reassuring. I'm not keen on warm cabins on long haul, much prefer to be on the colder side.

Buy a USB fan from Amazon. It's around $15. Best $ spent for me ever. I also carry my own cheap thin duvets that I bought from Walmart. Depending on route and SD's, they usually have it cooler than intra-Asia flights.

That's a great idea! I have a fan already which I use at work. Bargain from HK last year. Will take that with me.

I've flown to LAX from HKG on CX and it was really cool in he cabin, likewise whenever I take SQ the temperatures are always comfortable. However TG I will never use again! It was so hot it was like being in the streets of Bangkok still during a hot April day.
