Thank you! And you replied so quick you caught my unedited post as part of your reply. I had first posted it was on a 77A from TPE-LAX, but my memory came around and it was actually on the first leg of my journey on a 77N from MFM-TPE.

Edited my post to reflect your update

Now that I think about it (based on your photo), I think staggered J might actually be slightly more private (so the forward cabin). Let's see....hmm.

Last Q - I think. Is it generally colder or warmer in the J forward cabin or mini cabin?

I find BR keeps their planes WAY too warm. So if there's an advantage.....somewhere I'd like to take it! Where should I sit if I want to be colder or does it not matter?

You're right that EVA tends to keep the cabins too warm. I always request a thinner Y+ blanket and then use the J comforter as a mattress topper. I've only flown in the rear mini cabin a few times, but I don't recall there being any noticeable difference in temperature relative to the front cabin.

Seats with AVOD box in foot area in Elite?

I searched this thread and the forum but have seen conflicting posts.

I am flying EWA Elite YYZ-TPE-SIN. I believe the 77N is the YYZ-TPE run.

SeatGuru says: In Economy, each C, D, and H seat has limited underseat storage and legroom due to the presence of an entertainment equipment box.

Photos I have seen from the EVA Elite review show it in A, D and K.

What is consensus on which seats on the 77N in Elite class have the AVOD box in the seat foot area?

Thank you.

Has anyone here traveled with a lap child (18 months) in RL on a 777? Looking at the photos the smaller divider might be advantageous to pass the child between the two seats. There does not appear to be a way to have the child sit/lay on the ground with both seats extended to the sleeping position however.

I believe it is, indeed, around T-48 hours that they release some of the blocked seats at the front of the cabin. On multiple occasions I've even been able to snag 1A or 1K at check-in (usually 6 or 7 hours before my the TPAC segment of my itinerary departs from TPE). Perhaps most RL passengers aren't watching the seatmap like a hawk. Well done on 1A! ^

Does the release of blocked seats also apply to the Elite seats? Or is that just for the biz class only?

I don't know, I wouldn't "pass" a 18-month child (say 10kg) over the middle divider
I think 2 seats across the aisle is probably easier so that kids can go between easily

I think they may "release" the seats to airport/check-in control at T-48, which may or may not re-arrange seats
at least that's what happened with my Y bulkhead experience

T-2 days now. I snagged 1A again on the return when it was listed as occupied.

The front J seat is certainly more private than a seat in the mini J cabin. I know this was a question I had so I thought I'd share. Definitely recommend the front J cabin for privacy. The staggering of the seats does make a difference.

1A is an awesome seat!

My experience with BR's seating arrangement is that I had 5K reserved for 11 months (got bounced around monthly and had to keep switching back, it seemed) and when I checked at T-36, found I was assigned 7G. Couldn't do anything about it, being under airport control. Could they have moved me for a BR Elite?

Upon arriving at LHR, went to the *A counter and was able to get 2K after escalating my complaint to the supervisor.

Oddly though, my intra-Asia flight seat selections always stuck.

TG - unfortunately I don't know if any blocked Elite seats also become available at T-48 although logic would dictate this might be the case. Maybe a few of the bassinet seats?

I've done bookings for others where there are blocked or selected seats almost a year out (so blocked or selected already, we won't know).

We've also had experiences whereby a family member has been offered a seat in Elite which was blocked when we checked in online.

Anybody have tips about selecting seats in Y in advance? It looks like I am on a 77A for a flight in November. When I look at the seat selection screen, I can only see seats in the following rows:
49, 55, 56, 57, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69
All of the other rows in Y are greyed out. Could Y really be this full 3 months in advance?

Are there other priority seats for elites besides rows 45 and 60? I'm *A Gold, but not from EVA, so I'm not sure that helps.
