On TPW-CDG, I ended up getting the
Exclusive Sauteed Seafood with Gremolata Sauce Served with Truffle and Mushroom Risotto and Mixed Vegetables
It was fine and much better than the fish I had on my way over.
Later in the flight, I tried two items from the snack menu:
1) the burger (meat and fries were OK, but the bun was dry and bordering on inedible)
2) fried seafood noodle (not the instant noodles; was actually pretty tasty)
Washed it all down with a few glasses of Krug Rose; not so bad, although I wished they would also have a non-rose option.

I had the duck breast on a prior flight. It was excellent and the reason for me to pre-order it again this time. That's why I was so disappointed after the first bite...

The duck breast ex-YVR was pretty bad as well. Luckily, I wasn't in the mood for a heavy meal as I just wanted to sleep.

Some more cost cutting by EVA Air in RL:
The late night flights(BR28 SFO, SEA, YVR, BR16 LAX) are now down to 2 meal options+1 Star Special(Din Tai Fung beef noodle soup this cycle) and Steak has been removed as an option. They have 3 meal options(and no star special) on the earlier flights. CP said change was made to reduce catering costs for night time flights.
Also, some of the Intra-Asia desserts look really sad now. A plate of fruit with some thin slice of some type of layered dessert(has nuts in it).

Yea I noticed the lack of steak during my september br16 flight.
There were like 8 choices for pre-order though nothing really stood out as particularly appetizing. Ended up choosing rack of lamb, but they were tiny little pieces.

I had the: Exclusive Wok Fried Grouper Fish Fillet with Superior Crab Roe Sauce, Served with Mixed Vegetables and Noodles
The Grouper was horrible. Rubbery baked fish trying to pretend it was fried.
Good thing I was not that hungry.
