Had the lobster option when i went on Eva's hello Kitty RL service from LAX couple weeks ago. Food was bland and underwhelming. A little disappointed. Have another flight coming, going to choose between the duck or seafood..

I ordered the lobster thermidor 2 months ago JFK-TPE and it was the best meal I had in J or F on any airline. I have flown CX, JL, OZ and EK F class and I have to say that entree on BR was the absolute best I had, I never expected it but was pleasantly surprised. I flew BR before and found the food ok at best, but this was another level really.

Actually I think SQ's lobster thermidor looks way better than any of these.

I can't believe you guys are arguing about whose lobster look nicer... Seriously, the SQ one is coated under so much cheese, you can barely see it's actually lobster beneath it.

Here is what lobster in the sky should actually look like at a real First Class cabin :

Flying TPE-CDG in a couple weeks. Of the options on offer, the two that strike me are

* Rack of Lamb Cutlet Coated with Lime Herb Crust with Rosemary Sauce serve with Parmentier Potatoes and Mixed Vegetables
* Pan Fried Duck Breast with Dark Cherry Red Wine Sauce and Asparagus Rolled with Bacon,Roasted Potato

TAHKUCT has chimed in regarding a lamb dish. Anyone with duck breast experience? I'm always a sucker for duck but haven't tried it in the air yet.

I ended up having the lamb on TPE-JFK and it was very good. My friend pre-ordered the scallop and shrimp which he said was amazing. It surprised me how many people hadn't pre-ordered on our flight. Hum...

Other general comments. Service was amazing. Those Taiwanese flight attendants were almost running around and squeezing around others carts to get their food and drinks out. Maybe they wanted to just finish to be able to rest but they were WORKING! Tons of smiles from all the staff. I was so full after the multiple glasses of Dom, appetizer, entree, the dessert, and fresh fruit that I had no room left for the cheese. Sigh.

I slept during the flight so I didn't get to try the dim sum snack. Doh!!

And lastly, they did serve us champagne before take off.

"Amazing" is not a word I've ever used or even thought of in conjunction with EVA's food.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though -- to each his own!

I can't believe the first time I flew J with my parents, we didn't know you can pre-order food.

We thought it mean you can select your meal of choice up front (the 2 they offer in flight).

Heck would I have known I could have got lobster I was pissed >.<

Instead I got soft and soggy Din Tai Fung Noodles w/ Chicken Meat.

But there service is hard to beat!

SQ is by far the best lobster thermidor.

I will post a picture of BR version in about 2 weeks.

How do you know if any pre-order item is Din Tai Fung, or are those not available for pre-order?
