EVA - Clearing the waitlist
 

I'm flying SGN-LAX today and I'm still on the waitlist to upgrade from Evergreen Deluxe to Premium Laurel for the TPE-LAX leg. I was upgraded on the way here 2 weeks ago, but as of this morning, I'm still waitlisted. Looks like seats are still available in PL. Can I expect to be upgraded when I arrive in TPE if seats are still available? I'm an EVA Gold if that makes any difference.

I think so. Let us know how you get on... There might be other golds waiting. Diamonds are pretty rare so you'd be unlucky to be trumped by a diamond.

Turns out it seems like they forgot about me. When I checked in in SGN, I asked if I had cleared the waiting list. The girl then asked if I wanted to upgrade using miles (which is how I originally confirmed the reservation). I said yes and she confirmed seats were available. So the good news is I'm in PL, but just seemed odd I had to ask since I had been on the wait list for over a month.

Sitting in the Diamond Lounge now so all is good for a nice flight home. ^

Good! Though if you'd got upgraded earlier you could have ordered from a bigger menu online.

Any orange juice in the lounge? There wasn't on my last couple of visits. The garden had some on my first visit, but not on my second. Plus the coffee machine had failed.

Sometimes they didn't forget about you, the people who need to clear the upgrades probably never did yours so it did not go to the system at all.
