now that I think about it, three Star Alliance airlines have unconfortable
long-haul business class seats:
(1) Lufthansa (who're they kidding? how do you spell backpain?)
(2) Singapore Air (to be fair, I thought it was perfect for sleeping, but sitting in it was painful)
(3) United Airlines (I did not enjoying other passengers looking at me)
If BR joins Star Alliance, they'll be number 4 on my list. I'm almost certain that
the new business class seat they're planning will be unimaginative and outdated.

According to news report from the Annual Meeting held on 10 June:
張國煒說,長榮航目前已與11家航空業者聯營航班,且加入航空聯盟已是國際趨勢,最快年底應該會有新一步的消息。
CEO Chang Guo Wei said: EVA Air already has codeshare agreements with 11 airlines and joining airline alliances is the international trend. There should be additional news at the end of the year at the earliest.
Interesting....it almost seems he took a step back from the statement a few months ago.
The same report also says they are leasing 3 A330-300s which will join the fleet late 2011 (they have 332s now). Hopefully that will reduce the LHR cancellations...

If they're going to spend money on new business class seast, they might as well go all the way and choose the best.

I actually like LH's seats and service.

BR is a great airline, not the best like SQ or maybe CX, but it is a well above average in the airline industry.
I agree the true business class is flat bed, but AF is still using the similar BR business class seats.
I hope BR can join Star Alliance very soon, possible end of 2011?
Thanks everyone for reading this.

BR still has a few 747s that continue to use the old Super Business Class seats. Those seats date back to 1991, yes, TWENTY YEARS AGO! I really don't know what BR management is smoking....

At least BR no longer uses them on long haul like AMS or SFO.
