Amex Points to Eurostar

I read an article online that said you can transfer Amex points to Eurostar's loyalty program (and the rates appear to be quite attractive). I have tried doing the transfer at the below link: https://www.americanexpress.com/en-g...ub-Eurostar/ES

However the website keeps erroring out, saying it can't load. I'm guessing the issue is I need a UK MR account and I do not. Does anyone know if there's a way to get points into Club Eurostar from a US based MR account? Thanks.

As you live in the US you are not eligible for the Amex International Currency Card, but in theory it may be possible to open a regular UK Amex via Amex Global Transfer and transfer your US MR points to UK MR points, which would convert at the prevailing USD to GBP exchange rate.

I have heard that you can only do a conversion once per 12 months, or maybe only once ever, but you may need to give Amex a better reason for wanting a UK Amex than redeeming on Eurostar.
